It never fails to amaze me after a wind storm how people and the press are surprised by trees and their branches falling and injuring people or damaging property! A tree is a living growing plant that requires care and maintenance, just like cutting your lawn or a trip to the dentist. Property owners should do a review of the trees on their property and boulevard in front of their homes at least once a year, looking for problem. If you need call an Arborist to do the review. Trees add value to a property, but a sick tree or the incorrect specie of tree to close to a building, parked automobiles, overhead or underground utility can cause thousands of dollars in damage.
Water levels in rivers and lakes are high, the water is still very cold, Please educate your children and friends to stay away from deep, cold and fast flowing water.
Construction season has started! When you see the orange and black construction signs and cones, please slow down the construction workers are sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, father and mother earning a living and looking forward to going home at the end of the day.
Sunny warm weather is here, many kids have new bikes and are taking to the road for the first time. Please take time to ensure they have a properly fitted bicycle helmet and understand the rules of the road.

As we venture outdoors in wooded areasfor work and pleasure we need to be aware of the growing bear population in Ontario. Do not leave food unattended, lock it in a cooler in your vehicle, if you encounter a bear, stop and listen, are there cubs with the bear. Do not get between a bear and her cubs, slowly back away from the bear, do not make fast or threatening moves.
