Today, September 30th, is Canada’s first annual observance of Truth and Reconciliation Day. We would like to acknowledge that here in Kincardine, we are on the traditional lands of the Mississauga, Odawa and Anishinabewaki peoples. Today is meant to acknowledge and remember those lost to Residential Schools, those who survived , and the generational trauma that remains today. Today and everyday, we must educate ourselves about the past and present, and continue to hold space... for Indigenous voices. May we as a community continue to work towards reconciliation.
