Our region has a partnership with Clean the World, and one initiative they lead is the soapbox program. They’ve had to find different ways to engage volunteers to build the kits as a result of COVID. Our GM, Allison Lang, bravely stepped up for her flu shot at work today. Kudos to our amazing Health and Safety Committee, and especially Carol, for being so proactive. Team Accor did it again, raising $5334 to earn 3rd Place in Team Fundraising for CIBC Run for the Cure Moncton! Kudos to our fearless Team Captain Carol Wheaton and a big thanks to our GM Allison Lang for heading out early to mark our special Accor route, and providing refreshments for the team. It was an exciting week for Pascale LeBrasseur, our GRC Director of Finance and Business Support. She was delighted to learn she was successful in completing the prestigious Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) designation. The CHAE is the only accounting certification offered by the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals Association which is specific to the hospitality industry. Wasn't That a Party! Francine arrived to discover her desk transformed in fine style by her Team Leader Rachel, (who had lots of help!) She enjoyed the decor while serving her guests, then was invited to a "coaching session" which turned out to be a surprise parking lot party! Lots of room for a socially distanced gathering with presents, cupcakes and of course Francine's favourite Pepsi! Toasts were made, tales were told, and there were even a few tears as Fran received many heartfelt warm wishes for a fabulous retirement. Thank you Fran for all you've given to GRC, your colleagues and your guests over the past 21 years. We'll miss you!

In September 1999, Francine Houssen graced the doors of our Accor Global Reservation Centre and joined our Reservation Sales team. On Friday, August 21st, she will begin her retirement journey after 21 years of making memories with her guests and our GRC family! Fran, your kindness, warmth and friendship will be missed here at the Centre. We hope all the years ahead bring you much deserved joy and relaxation!
