Hello Saints, We are holding the first ever GeoGuessr League! Geoguessr is an online game that uses Google Street View to drop players randomly somewhere in the world. Then using a combination of your geographic knowledge and context clues from the area, you will have to guess which country you are in.... For this tournament we will play Countries Battle Royal rules. (Last one standing.) Students will compete in Teams of Two. (Though you can enter as a Solo and be paired with another player.) The league will be a series of matches that take place once a week throughout the semester. Your position in the games will determine your points for the week, then the team at the end of the semester with the most points will be the CHAMPION! Games will be played on both on Monday Night or Wednesday Morning (You will select your preferred date in the sign up), starting the week after midterm. (Oct 18th) The league will run for 6 weeks, with 7th week being the championship series. (Exact date TBD) We will also have an exhibition/practise game (recommended for new players) on Oct 8th. What you need to play: - A PC or Laptop. (Does not work on mobile.) - A Free Geoguessr account. (You DO NOT need to pay for a premium account, since the advisors' will be hosting the games.) - A Google account for Google Meetings. This is open to all students, new players are welcome! We celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada on the second Monday of October, this year is October 11th, and it's an official statutory holiday. The college will be closed, and there will be no online or in-person classes that day. The original idea is to give thanks for the past harvest season. Still, the tradition has changed over time for many Canadian families, and the focus is now to get together with family and eat turkey, pumpkin pie and apple cider. St. Clair College and GEM is pleased to announce the official launch of a major building project on its South Windsor Campus, as it seeks to address the issue o...f a student housing shortage. A new International student residence will provide on-campus housing for 512 students, within walking distance to buildings and on a bus route to the downtown Windsor campus. The developer and manager of the new residence is Global Education Mihome (GEM) Corporation, the College’s educational partners who own and administer the private school Ace Acumen Academy in North York and Mississauga. GEM invested 23 Million dollars for this Residence Project
