Hi, this is Evelyn Ackah from Ackah Business Immigration Law. I hope you're well. This is the week of Halloween, which is coming up on Saturday. And I have young kids and we've decided we're not going to be doing Halloween outside. We're going to be doing Halloween inside. So we'll have lots of crazy decorations and candy hidden around the house and they'll look for it and we'll all get made up and have a good day and evening in the house and watch very gentle, scary movies. ... It is just such an interesting time, how things have changed for everybody. And I really just want to remind people that it is a tough time and we need to show compassion and empathy for everybody. We're all dealing with the COVID crisis in different ways, whether it was economically, emotionally, physically, people are really living through this crisis and they are in real trauma. So if you feel you need support, please reach out. In Calgary, we have the Calgary Distress Center, many employees have employee access to EAP, employee assistance programs, therapy, counseling, a good friend to walk with, socially distance outside and get some physical exercise or somebody just to listen. We really do need to lead with compassion and every day we're seeing more and more even from clients, the anxiety and the stress is real. And so at Ackah Law, we're really focused on taking it easy, giving everybody the benefit of the doubt, living our values of trust and honesty and transparency and, and thinking about other people's perspectives. That's why we all got into immigration law - to be able to help people, and to be able to support them through whatever is going on.
