West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) and Spence Neighbourhood Association (SNA) have teamed up with generous funding from End Homeless Winnipeg to open a Warming Centre in the West End. The Warming Centre is in the large gym at the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre at 430 Langside St. and is open from 10am-2pm from Monday to Friday. It offers a space to warm up for 30 minutes, a hot meal, and access to hygiene items, harm reduction supplies, winter gear, and washrooms. Staff on-site can also connect people to housing supports, gender-based violence supports, as well as health, mental health, and substance use supports as needed.
