Our #virtualwalk is still going strong... ANAC's President, Judy Haust, has been walking for Acoustic Neuroma all week. Below we've shared why Judy is #walkingforAN as well as some pictures of her virtual walking journey. Judy has raised almost $2,000 for ANAC. A BIG THANK YOU to ALL our members for helping raise awareness and walking for AN. If you haven't already donated, it's not too late! Click the link below. Message from Judy's Fundraising Page:... "September 5th to 13th, I’m walking for ANAC, which has been a godsend for me and for countless others! An AN is a rare, usually slow-growing, benign brain tumour affecting one in 100,000. Actor Mark Ruffalo is perhaps the most high-profile person to be diagnosed with an AN. ANs often go un-diagnosed because of a general lack of awareness. Although non-cancerous, large ANs can become life-threatening because of their proximity to the brainstem. For more infomation, please refer to anac.ca. Your donation no matter how small would be hugely appreciated to ensure the continuation of ANAC’s valuable services across Canada." Thank you to everyone who donated, remember ALL donations go directly back to member support services. No one with Acoustic Neuroma should have to walk alone. #ANFamily #ANAC #ANCanada #walkforAN #virtualwalk https://www.canadahelps.org//ANAC-Annual-First-Annual-Walk/

We have so many amazing stories from our #virtualwalk. Today, we would like to share Elizabeth's story. As many of you know, two years ago I was diagnosed with Acoustic Neuroma, a rare and benign brain tumour. This explains my sudden deafness in one ear as well as my ongoing balance issues. Immediately and for the months following, I received support, guidance, and direction for how best to manage and cope with this diagnosis. The non-profit, patient-run registered charity ...that has made such a difference to me and to so many other Canadians is the Acoustic Neuroma Association of Canada (ANAC). I will be walking 10 km with my walking poles this week. You can support me by making a donation through CanadaHelps, by sponsoring Staying Balanced, my event monicker. All donations are welcome to support our #virtualwalk. https://www.canadahelps.org//ANAC-Annual-First-Annual-Walk/ Remember, no one with AN should walk alone! #ANCanada #walkforAN #ANAC
