Our #virtualwalk is still going strong... ANAC's President, Judy Haust, has been walking for Acoustic Neuroma all week. Below we've shared why Judy is #walkingforAN as well as some pictures of her virtual walking journey. Judy has raised almost $2,000 for ANAC. Although non-cancerous, large ANs can become life-threatening because of their proximity to the brainstem. For more infomation, please refer to anac.ca. We have so many amazing stories from our #virtualwalk. Today, we would like to share Elizabeth's story. As many of you know, two years ago I was diagnosed with Acoustic Neuroma, a rare and benign brain tumour. This explains my sudden deafness in one ear as well as my ongoing balance issues. Immediately and for the months following, I received support, guidance, and direction for how best to manage and cope with this diagnosis. The non-profit, patient-run registered charity ...that has made such a difference to me and to so many other Canadians is the Acoustic Neuroma Association of Canada (ANAC).
