Action Rifle League 06.01.2021

Action Rifle League shooters - On Saturday 24 November 2018, Action Rifle League invites you to participate in the Close Quarter Shooting Series 2018 Gran Prix Final at the Abbotsford Fish and Game Club. Here we will crown our top 3 shooters of 2018 and awards our daily winners too!. Action Rifle League has put together a series of competitions in BC in an effort to get people off the bench and into the exciting world of competitive shooting. Nothing other than basic/safe g...un handling skills needed! We use a fine balance of "Big Boy" rules and at the same time have multiple layers of safety in place. Participants will shoot snap matches, rapid fire matches, move and then shoot, shoot rifles until empty and then transition to pistol. Time will be short so drills better be smooth! Wipe the bench rust off your ARs, your Type 97s, your RFBs, your 858s, your SKSs or whatever center fire rifle you have. Got an Enfield or K98 you want to try? Bring it out, but be ready to work that bolt faster than you ever thought possible! Targets are anywhere from 10 to 35 meters away. You can’t miss right?! Participants will to need to bring a few things: - A rifle. Semi autos are the standard, but feel free to bring a military style bolt gun if you like. - All rifles must have five (5) detachable magazines capable of holding 5 rounds each OR be capable of being loaded quickly with stripper clips. - Sights for your rifle. Scopes, red dots, Elcans, irons or whatever, it’s your choice! - A sling for your rifle which will allow the rifle to hang in front of you, not over your shoulder. - A reliable pistol with 2 magazines and a holster with at least one level of retention. - You are also going to need some way to carry all your stuff. Tac vests, belt kits, chest rigs or just big pockets are all viable options. Whatever you prefer! - 150 rounds of your favorite rifle ammo and 50 rounds of pistol ammo should cover you for the day. - Eye and hearing pro are mandatory. Dress for the weather and lunch will be available from a food truck/ trailer. Mandatory range safety briefing will take place at 09:00 and all participants must attend. DO NOT BE LATE FOR THE BRIEFING! If you don’t attend the briefing, you don’t get to shoot. We have lots of safety issues to run through and squadding to organize. Match fees are $50.00 for non-members or $40.00 if you are a member of Abbotsford Fish and Game Club. Please RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible. Spaces are limited so register NOW! Bring a positive attitude and come give this a try. It’s perfect for those that have never shot a competition before and fun is guaranteed! Just ask anyone who shot the last match! Only hits count!

Action Rifle League 31.12.2020

Unfortunately we have had a bit of a condensed shooting year so farith two cancellations, but here is the grand standings for 2018 so far. We have 12 shooters that have had a 3 match best, but November is just around the corner...

Action Rifle League 20.12.2020

Heads up shooters. We got the dates wrong when we sent out the email for the October match. It was supposed to be the 20th NOT the 13th and was just brought to our attention. Unfortunately we have to cancel the match due to neither of us being available for the correct date of the 20th of October. November finals match is still a go and won't change. Our sincere apologies as we know some of you have planned well ahead.

Action Rifle League 19.08.2020

Ok folks we are unfortunately going to cancel the match for tomorrow due to weather. Almost half of our registration list called in sick and there is an estimated 20cm more snow coming over night. As much as we want to shoot the match we also dont want any of you to crash a car or get hurt coming out to the match. So I think its the right thing to do under these circumstances. Our apologies and hopefully we can reschedule.

Action Rifle League 16.08.2020

Big thanks to Bart, our resident drone jockey, for putting together this slick video. Check it out and maybe you could be in the next one..

Action Rifle League 28.07.2020

Shooters - As of now we are good to go for the match tomorrow. Our meteorological department is monitoring the situation and we will post a "go"/ "no go" email by 10pm this evening should things expect to get worse over the night. Unfortunately, the food truck is confirmed a "no go" for tomorrow and everyone should bring something and not expect food at the range. We will miss those delicious sammies Dan... See you on the Hoth line...

Action Rifle League 09.07.2020

With a few days to go until our first match of 2018, we have 52 registered to start the year with our Course of Fire "Alpha". There are still a few spots available so sign up and bring a friend! Action Rifle League 02.02.2020

Action Rifle League shooters - On Saturday 5 August 2017 , Action Rifle League invites you to the Close Quarter Shooting Series 2017 at the Abbotsford Fish and Game Club. Action Rifle League has put together a series of competitions in BC in an effort to get people off the bench and into the exciting world of competitive shooting. Nothing other than basic/safe gun handling skills needed!...

May long weekend, shooting in the hills of Chilliwack at Vokes 600m range. Big thanks to the British Columbia Rifle Association and the shooters that took in one of the nicest ranges in the country in picture perfect weather. If this is something that you want to see again, let us know. Only hits count! (especially at 300m..)

Action Rifle League 06.11.2019

Here's a short video made from some footage from Vokes range yesterday where we partnered with the British Columbia Rifle Association to put on a few days of great shooting. This was a 200 meter match shot from the kneeling or sitting position. 2 shots per exposure, with targets covering a length of 5 meters in 6 seconds, randomly moving left or right from the center of the bay. The targets are operating by another relay in the "butts". What what..

Action Rifle League 09.02.2019

Ok shooters I need a little input here. This is Ryan. It appears that Action Rifle League will be running at least one match this year(hopefully more) in conjunction WITH the British Columbia Rifle Association as a joint venture on the big 600m military rifle range called Vokes Range. The match is going to be a mid range match. Distances are going to be from 25m(or closer if we can work it) back to 200m and/or 300m. So far we are only good to go for rifle but are trying to g...et pistol in there as well if we can work it. As Vokes runs a butts system for the targets(meaning the targets are operated by people under a safe concrete barrier) this means that we can do a lot more as far as what types of targetry and matches we can supply for you. So far in the course of fire I'm writting we have matches where you will be able to zero your rifles at all distances, snap shoots, rapid fire, fire with movement( you might actually have to run 100m and they shoot!) And yes.........lots and lots of moving targets! What I'm looking for is a little input on anything else you might want to see! Now keep in mind we have the confines of a square military range to deal with so there will be no shooting sideways etc lol. It all is gallery straight to the front shooting like you all already do so well. Feel free to post your thoughts here and we'll see if we can work them in! 2017 is going to be a fun shooting season!!!! See more

Action Rifle League 22.01.2019

We strive to bring challenging and exciting shooting matches to the masses, but credit must go to our outstanding and generous sponsors. Their contributions are far too many to list but we would like to thank everyone who had a hand in keeping prizes on the table, and reasons for the winners to have to buy more toys. Wanstalls, Seraphim Armoury, DS Tactical, DVC Ventures: Vancouver Gun Range, Canadian Tactical Cowboy Supplies, JSA Tactical, Lever Arms Service, Craig Myers, Drummond Shooting, Abbotsford Fish and Game Club and everyone else I may have missed. Thank you all for your support and help over the years, we can't thank you enough.

A huge thanks to all of the shooters that braved the elements and made 2016 a great shooting year. We wrapped up our Grand Prix Championship with 56 on the line and crowned our match champ, as well as the year's top 3 shooters based on their top 3 match score aggregate from throughout the year. Our winner of the day and match Champion was Marlin Kachmar scoring a 624, who just missed his Master's by a whisker. Our 2016 Bronze finish was also Marlin who took home a HS3 chassi...s package courtesy of Modular Driven Technologies - MDT. The Silver finish went to Raul Verzosa who took home a Storm MR1 thanks to Joby Oommen Seraphim Armoury. Our Gold winner and top overall shooter for 2016 was hard earned by Duncan Vogel who took home a Para 1911 Black Ops thanks to Matt Mendel Wanstalls. Great shooting everyone, and we look forward to starting off 2017 with a bang. More to follow... Only hits count!m
