In the last session, our facilitators talked about the importance of praising/complimenting to our participants. We even had our participants prepare compliments for each other. Although, it seemed easy for them as they are already such beautiful people inside and out. There is scientific evidence where is it proven receiving and complimenting others is amazing for our brain. Learn more about the importance and how it affects our brains on our website www.wchealthymemory.com... West Coast Healthy Memory Society makes sure achievements and showing improvements should always be celebrated! To that, would like to congratulate our Smile Brain Program -English Version- participants to the world! Celebrate your achievements and radiate positivity! See more

Week 4: final week. Congratulations to all of our participants, we have finished the Smile Brain Program -English Version-!! This group of participants is truly phenomenal. They have worked so hard to focus and learn on activating and stimulating their brain by doing cognisize, reading out loud, solving simple equations, and fun group games. Our group was truly special because we were all open in sharing and listening to each other's stories during our group discussion. It ...has been touching to hear that the participants have taken in their hands to meet each other as we have only met online. The facilitators are so grateful to have organized and help each participant with their memory. We will miss seeing everyone's faces. Keep up with cognisize and remember to make your brain red! Recently West Coast Healthy Memory Society finished our Smile Brain Japanese version. We are so excited and happy to announce it went successfully! We were so glad to continue the program through Zoom during the pandemic. It is very important to keep social connections and keep your brain moving, even if there is an obstacle like COVID. It is never a disappointment to see and hear the lovely senior's faces and voices every week. Here is an example of our last weekly repor...t: We love making these reports to recap what happened during the session and a few of our fun discussions with the group. In our presentation at the showcase of Impact Evaluation, many participants wondered what Smile brain program is. Here is our presentation: Many participants were surprised with excitement that they could recall more than before. Some can remember more Japanese poems and even recall an old friend's name quicker. The data also proved that everyone who participated in the class understood our "simple" and "a little faster" brain training techniques and applied their learnings... to their daily lives, such as walking by doing simple math, reading a book aloud, and writing in a diary about the past. What can you see there? Keywords are " Simple (not too difficult), "do "Fast," and " Fun." Remember SFF As we said, in July, we plan to expand the Smile Brain Program online in English. You are very welcome to join us no matter where you live in BC! Please write a message to us: [email protected] if you are interested. We will limit the seat to 10 people across BC. The trial of a 4-week, 90 minutes per twice a week program consisting of brain exercise, cognicize, and tea party will be ready for you. As it is a trial, it is complimentary. Come join us and experience your fun time and memory improvement: The detail: [email protected]

Thank you very much for letting us work hard to complete the study " Impact evaluation " on our program " Smile Brain Program." The United Way kindly has supported this study. We had an excellent opportunity to talk in front of 150 people across BC. We also truly appreciate 20 people who answered our questions during the qualitative interview and 13 people who responded to our survey. We also congratulate our facilitators who conducted the interview and spent their valued time to make it happen. All the effort we made earned respect from many people in BC.

Wow! Our senior had great experiences in Victoria! Despites a bus strike announced in Vancouver, we were determined to visit the parliment of BC. MLA Anne Kang and other MLAs warmly welcomed us and showed us hidden places in the parliament. Christmas decoration is so beautfiul there! One of participants said" It's such an honor that my name was annouced before the debate". Indeed our experiences there were beyond our expectations. We really enjoyed the tour, lunch and free fe...rry. Thanks to Ms. Anne Kang, Eric and Eugine who organized such a great field trip for Japanese seniors.
