We are happy to welcome back some of public skating programs starting Monday, Sept 21st. As we ease back into regular programs we will be offering the following... at a reduced schedule. Parent & Tot Skate Monday & Wednesday - 9:00am Senior Skate (65+) Monday & Wednesday - 10:00am -11:00am $2 per person Adult Skate (18+) Monday & Wednesday - 12:00pm - 2:00pm $2 per person Guests are to enter the building through the back parking lot doors and will be screened prior to entering the arena. Payment will also be collected at check in. Please note that guests are required to bring their own helmets to the skates. Helmets will be mandatory in January 2021. Pick up hockey and our all ages public skate will be added later in the fall.

Alexi from McKinnon Kayak Tours is passionate about getting more BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of Colour) participation in outdoor recreation activities like paddling, camping and hiking. Thanks to support from the Province of Nova Scotia, he is here today in Pictou County leading kayak sessions in Pictou Harbour. Check out his project Different Strokes Paddle Program that provides free paddle instruction to BIPOC participants in HRM. Pictou Harbour is a landing spot for paddlers using the Trans Canada Trail The Great Trail) water route, a popular marina, and Pictou Recreation and Parks lends stand up paddle boards through a free equipment loan program.
