This is why I do what I do - to try and prevent these types of tragic injuries. It is always a source of frustration for me that many organizations that own playgrounds don't take the maintenance seriously and unfortunately it will take an injury like this to have them realize the importance of maintenance. The Ministry of Education has made changes that affect all childcare centres here in Eastern Ontario. If you have any A or B hazards in your playgrounds even if your previous licensing rep accepted not fixing it, from now on, your playground will be closed until you repair the A and B hazards and get it re-inspected.

Jeep for sale! This jeep is approximately 9 years old and in great shape. The reason for selling is the daycare is putting up a gazebo in the current location of the jeep and they do not have any additional space for the jeep. Just finishing up a Canadian Playground Safety Institute training course in Springdale, Newfoundland! Had some great students - Environmental Health Offices as well as School and Municipal staff. Lots of sharing of experiences taking place - and plenty of east coast hospitality!
