ACTRA Montreal’s PDC presents: Designing Your Video Game Voice Demo Each year, the video game industry becomes more and more reliant on audio demos for casting roles. For many casting departments, demos are a way to discover new talent to bring in for auditions. On other projects, audio demos are a way to cast performers directly, cutting out the costs of an audition process. If a performer doesn’t have a demo they are simply not in the running for most video game work.... Designing Your Video Game Voice Demo will give you the necessary knowledge to be able to complete your own high quality audio demo, specific to the video game voice industry. You will learn: -What the industry is looking for -How to highlight your strengths -Where to find source material -Technical requirements of your demo -Where to send your demo This online workshop includes: -1 group session (2 hours) -Critique/individual feedback notes on your demo after you make it (by email) Details: Date: February 20 (3-5 pm) - by Zoom Cost: $20 (plus taxes), thanks to a generous subsidy from Emploi Quebec To apply for this workshop, you must submit your professional resume to [email protected] NO LATER THAN JANUARY 28th. * Spaces are limited. Twenty (20) participants will be selected by a committee, in a manner which faithfully reflects the diversity and range of ACTRA Montreal’s membership. We are committed to providing education opportunities for marginalized performers. If you self-identify as a marginalized performer, please indicate so in your application. Your instructor: Simon Peacock began working in video games as a voice actor almost 20 years ago. For the last 15 years he has been working as a voice director and a casting director, giving him a unique perspective into all the sides of demos. As a director he has worked on over 70 games including some of the biggest selling titles in the world. On the casting side he has worked with dozens of different companies, from the big Producers like Ubisoft, Eidos and Warner Bros to the small independents like Red Barrels, Signal Space and even the NFB.
