Have you benefited from receiving injection therapy from a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac), Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP), or Do...ctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Dr.TCM)? We need your help so we can continue to help you. Although as many as 300 practitioners in BC have been safely practicing injections for many years, there has been no formal legislation to support our ability to provide these treatments. In 2015, scope of practice updates were submitted to the Provincial government, as were similar documents from most of the other regulated health professions. Ours is one of the last that is still waiting for official approval. These scope of practice updates represent the inevitable growth and learning within the various health professions. As we develop and modernize our skill sets, we seek legislation that supports our practitioners providing services like injections, joint manipulations, and Tui Na massage, using ultrasound machines and cold lasers, prescribing a full complement of herbs, et cetera. Many of these techniques aren’t necessarily new. Rather, they’ve been in practice in other countries for decades, fully integrated into our traditional systems of medicine. Despite being highly trained and fully insured, we are presently unable to offer injections -- not because they aren’t safe and effective, but because our elected officials seemingly don’t consider this important. In 2020 we had to withdraw injection therapies from our practices due to a challenge by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Several clinics closed, and patients were effectively cut off from this type of therapy. Our Ministry of Health is understandably busy with pandemic concerns. However, our medical system is already overtaxed and restricting access to injection therapies seems counterproductive at this time. As a small clinic owner/operator, I’m asking you to take a few minutes to share YOUR perspectives with the elected officials who are there to serve your needs. I think it’s important -- do you? Please consider the following questions and send your responses to our elected officials: What was it like before you received injections? Describe what you went through in your efforts to solve your pain. What was it like when you realized the treatment was working? How did it affect your life? How does not being able to receive treatment affect you? What would the future look like if you were no longer able to receive injections? Hello community. I've been quiet on here for some time now so I've been feeling that it's time to say something... What a time we are all going through! Recently, many of you have asked me if I'm still open,.... yes! I am! Albeit, less than pre-pandemic times, and with protocols in place. But I do have some appointments available over the next near future. I've recently decided to pull my kid from school, for various reasons, one of them be including the dedication of respons...ibility to keeping you and my clinic healthy as possible through these times. In my personal life, I'm spending a lot of time in nature *thanks goodness for nature!!!* ... and at home. I have settled into really savoring my home life as well. I hope you all are too. Honestly, when I first reopened after the spring "shut down", I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy working in these new ways, with masks, etc. However, I'd like to share with you what an honour and gift I feel it is to be of service through these times. My work brings me an incredible amount of peace and humbleness and deep joy that I want to thank each of you for sharing with me. It is such a treat and powerful gift to get to spend quality time with each of you and to be able to help ease the heaviness of these times. If any of you would like some help, my clinic is open and i have some time. If you find yourself in a difficult financial situation, please still book in. My Karma Care program is in full force and not going anywhere. I'm here. We'll find a rate that is manageable for you, and me. And I'm sending you all oodles of love and healing. Hope to see you soon! If you are nervous to come in, but need support, please reach out. Although I dont do online sessions, I know some amazing practitioners who do and am always more than happy to do my best to connect you with support. Take care, feel my love. We are in an epic time of history. The more we stand together, the better we will build our now and future. Much love, Delphine.

Please PM me if you dont want to here . Downtown Vancouver peops, not to worry, I will be keeping my clinic and availability downtown as well.

The Public Service Health Care Plan is proposing that acupuncture performed is covered by MDs and not acupuncturists. I have over 3000 hours of training when I went to Chinese medicine school and did you know an MD can do a weekend course learning Acupuncture and perform acupuncture on patients? Please consider signing this if you are in Canada.

Thank you for the share Fay Meling Pao "Thanks for stating this so well Christine Lang For those who may not know the deep history of acupuncture in the west, Tupac’s stepfather, Dr Mutulu Shakur and the Black Panthers were integral in starting acupuncture addictions clinics in black communities back in the 70’s. Hola! Yesterday was my first day of Phase 2 soft opening!... like all of us, the clinic is undergoing some changes. My new schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 2pm - 7pm New protocols: posted on my website booking page and a picture of Coles notes here. ... As we'll be doing COVID-19 screenings shortly before appointments, last minute openings may come up! Tomorrow! Wed May 21 I have a 70min at 2pm or a 40min at 230pm that just opened up due to such screenings. Please message me or book online if you would like to come in. www.acudelphine.com I'm very sorry I am not accepting new patients at this time, so that I may prioritize the return and care of my current patients. However if the appointment is still open tomorrow I will contact those of you on my waiting list . Stay safe and healthy! One love, much love, Delphine

Hola!!! After the Provincial announcements yesterday, it looks as though non-emergency Acupuncture may be included in Phase 2, which may begin May 19 2020! This is very exciting and also brings forth the importance of navigating this temporary new normal in a safe and effective manner. If you are looking to return to Acupuncture treatment with me or Sally, please take note of our announcements on our on line booking. I hope you are all well and safe and healthy. And I'm SO ...looking forward to being able to help again! https://book.click4time.com/acupuncturebydelphine/book/step1

I just wanted to write a moment in consideration of all of you who have trusted me to help facilitate your healing over the last 11 years! April marked my 11 year Acupuncture Anniversary. This is a significant number in cycles and I marvel at the significance of not being able to work right now. Sometimes a break from our passion can help us become better at it. This is my hopes and intentions for the future of my Acupuncture journey with you when we are safe to meet again! ...This is such an amazing time we are in. While I feel and love many of the gifts of this COVID-19 shut down time, I have grieved a lot over the past few weeks. During this time it has been very difficult to stay away from the clinic, knowing that I'm being more helpful by not working at this time. Man my ego danced and brawled with that some fiercely! And I think of us all in the uncertainties of our economic climate of the future. And I just want to reiterate my commitment to Karma Care (click link below if you arent familiar with this program which has been in place since the opening of my little private clinic in 2017.) I stand by this firm belief that money should not determine access to health care. That our world is a better place when we all take care of each other. If you have lost your job and benefits, please don't worry about losing my support! We will always figure out a rate that works for you. ~~~ if you find yourself with more than you need and would like to help support me to help others, i humbly ask that you kindly make an etransfer donation to the Karma Care pool fund . #onelove #muchlove #staysafeandhealthy [email protected] #KarmaCare http://www.acudelphine.com/karma-care

More on COVID-19 ... ... ooph what a time we are all going through!!! My thoughts are all over the map as I am not one to normally get swept up in media storms... however, this one has my attention! I've kept pretty quiet about this situation thus far, not knowing exactly what to say or how to handle it. The big question for me professionally at this time is "to stay open or to close"? ... ... I have a small clinic with 2 treatment rooms and one practitioner in the space at a time. Serendipitously, I had already booked this week off for my kid's first week of spring break. I am not booked to be back in the clinic until Saturday and am taking these few days to monitor the situation. I am torn between being available to provide our community with support through these challenging times and not wanting to be a possible danger to my patients. I take such pride in knowing that I am helping, and at this point it is hard to know if continuing services (for those who do not feel they have been exposed) or shutting down completely is what is best for our community.... In the meantime, I'm practicing social isolation, choosing only nature, home and selective supply shopping in hopes to keep myself from being a possible vector... I'm on stand by and checking for recommendations from our Provicial Health Ministry and the CTCMA, my regulatory College here in BC. With much love I am thinking of you all and sending out much love. In this time I hope we can all benefit from slowing down and spending time in nature. I keep thinking about how much our dear Earth is benefiting from all of this slow down, and am cherishing the beautiful stories of our communities helping each other out. May we continue to check in on each other and help out our vulnerable neighbours when possible. Indeed these are remarkable times!
