Just a reminder that our Anglican diocese is putting on an event on Saturday morning, Sept. 26th . I hope that you have been able to register and look forward ...to seeing as many of you as possible. We may not be able to host real meetings but perhaps, but as those who care about the environment, this new zooming may be the way to reach more people. Please send this out to those in your congregation that might be interested; there is still space to register at the moment. https://niagaraanglican.ca/events/niagara-in-action Thank you if you are already joining us look forward to seeing you in your little squares that morning. If you find you can’t register please let me know so I can add your name to the list and be sure you get details of the link closer to the date. Hope that your churches are starting to open during this Season of Creation and life feels more normal. We are just finalising details for our next event on Wednesday, October 14th with Dr. Dianne Saxe. 7 p.m. I will be sending you this poster soon. Save the date. Green Blessings Sue Carson, chair of Climate Justice Niagara.

The Anglican Church Women Board is looking at new ways of keeping touch. Three times a year we publish a magazine called Keeping in Touch. One way we thought we could keep in touch on a more regular basis would be through social media. So welcome to our first electronic newsletter. Attached are jpeg pictures of our inaugural issue of LET’S KEEP IN TOUCH. If you would like to receive electronically a copy of this newsletter or a copy of our magazine, KEEPING IN TOUCH, please send your contact information to the ACW Board Office at [email protected]

On Thursday, June 11th 2020, the Anglican Church Women Board, Diocese of NS & PEI, on behalf of all Anglicans in our diocese, were pleased and excited to present a cheque in the sum of $17,000.00 to the King’s Kikima Grannies. This presentation brought to a successful conclusion our 2019-2020 project, Education a life changing gift! Funds raised from this project will go to support Grannies in Kikima, Kenya by providing funds for 5 Kikima grandchildren to attend universit...y or other institutes of technology to further their education. Due to the present restrictions in place for group gatherings, our group of 10 consisted of the following: ACW NS Board members, Cynthia Pilichos, Coordinator, Connie English, Coordinator & Publicity, Marjorie Davies, Treasurer, Ethel Nelson, Education and Sheila Hulford, Valley Regional Rep. Also present for the Kings Kikima Grannies were Betsy Baillie, Nancy Henry, Wendy Elliot, Shelley Moore Dunsfield and Sharon Stiebel. The success of our annual projects are made possible by the generosity and support of our ACW groups, the parishes in our diocese and by individual donations. On behalf of the Anglican Church Women and all who supported this international project, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to one and all. Thank you for your ongoing support of our annual projects and we look forward to your support of our 2020-2021 project, Supporting Parents: Stories That Matter. For this national project, the Anglican Church Women Diocesan Board are partnering with the Canadian Mothers’ Union to raise funds for the Mothers’ Union Supporting Parents Facilitator Training Course in the Council of the North. Here are a few pictures that were taken on Thursday, June 11th 2020. The pictures include the cheque and certificate presentation, a picture of the certificate, a letter from the grandmothers of Kings County, NS and Kikima, Kenya that will be included in our summer newsletter, Keeping in Touch, and a picture of the 5 students who will benefit from your generosity. The Kings Kikima Grannies always like to end their presentations with the following quote from Margaret Mead: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Thank you once again and may God extend to each one of you the blessings he has already begun and continues to do in your lives. God Bless!

Anglican Church Women Board, Diocese of Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island 24.07.2020

The Annual Project for 2019-2020, Education a life changing gift! will support the post-secondary education of a number of orphaned children in Kikima, Kenya, who are being raised by their grandmothers again, because of the loss of their parents from HIV/AIDS. While our Annual Projects cycle through from local, to national, to international, the Annual Project for 2019/20, Education a life changing gift!, with its international focus, has a local connection, as do all o...ur projects, regardless of where the funds are directed. We are partnering with Grannies in King’s Co., NS in this Grannies to Grannies project, and showing again that there continues to be MORE to our story, because we know that Mission is Possible: Empowered by God. Don't miss out - be part of the next great Annual Project! While sponsored by the Anglican Church Women Diocesan Board, Annual Projects such as Education - a life changing gift! are for the whole parish to support - they are an "equal opportunity' initiative that makes a huge difference in the lives of those who benefit. We welcome the same level of great support for the Annual Project 2019/20, Education - a life-changing gift! that we have received for past projects. Thank you in advance for your anticipated support of this Project and huge thanks for all past support we couldn’t be successful with these Projects without you.
