If your furnace isn't working properly try these few simple suggestions before calling your HVAC company for a service call. It can save you from a cold night and costly service call. 1. Check to make sure the furnace switch or breaker wasn't turned off by accident 2.Check to make sure your furnace filter is clean (not plugged). A plugged filter will cause poor air flow, over heat the furnace and make it shut down on safety (or short cycle repeatedly until it fails)... 3. Check to make sure the outside furnace exhaust vent and/or intake are not plugged with ice/snow (even partially blocked vent can cause failure). With extreme cold weather excessive condensate can build up and plug the vent (in most cases from a poor installation). If these suggestions do not help, please feel free to call us to set up an appointment. WE DO NOT ADVISE TO OPEN YOUR FURNACE DOORS AND SERVICE ANY OTHER ISSUES THAT MAY BE CAUSING IT TO MALFUNTION.
