Yesterday, I spent an hour with James Strachan, of Fredericton. The 93-year-old D-Day veteran still remembers the chaos he experienced during the largest seaborne invasion in history. The boats colliding, the bullets whizzing by, the bloody soldiers in the waves. We talked about what he was feeling then, how it affected him after, and how he got past the war to have a long and mostly happy life.
