Yesterday was our first Virtual Learning Pod! We had two kids join us at A Day In The Country while the rest of the class was online learning about Dormant, Coniferous and Deciduous Christmas Trees. As well as made one of our Christmas Gnome Trees.
Starting January 2021 Home-School - Winter Pod Learning Hottest New Learning Experiences - Home-Schooled Learning Pods where small groups of children distance learn together. Your very own customized field trip. ... Fanshawe Nursery Ltd. A Day In The Country facility is available for Home-school Learning Pod engaging in a multitude of education, healing, and personal growth experience led by Mary Hooydonk registered at the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as well as registered with Canadian Horticulture Therapy Association. Pods of 4 - 6 children (with adult supervision) are available Mondays through Saturdays for 2 hours of learning. Pods: 4-6 Children (accompanied by adults) 12 person maximum/Pod Minimum of 4 children per pod. Dates/Time: Mondays through Saturday - 9:00am - 11:30am (2 hour learning time) Cost: $15.00 / Child Included in Cost: Each learning experience will be customized based on each specific Pod (ages, learning stage etc.) Each pod will have a lesson in horticulture therapy with time spent learning about plants, and seasons. Time will be spent both indoors, and outdoors (weather permitting) focusing on learning new skills, sensory stimulation, (re)connecting with the outdoors and/or plant life, some physical activity, and promoting and encouraging enthusiasm /interest in the future of our planet. We ask all groups to bring their own personal water bottles as well as a snack if desired. *(Due to allergies and the Covid-19 situation we cannot provide snacks at this time). What a great day yesterday!! Thank you to everyone who came out and made your Gnome Trees - we’re glad that everyone had such a great time. Everyone’s Gnomes turned out great and very unique! And we hope to see you again at future events! There really is Gnome Place like Home for the Holidays - thank you again everyone and we at A Day in the Country wish Everyone a Very Happy and Safe Holiday Season!
