A great article about the matriarch of Adcocks' Woodland Gardens, Eleanor Adcock, on the occasion of her 90th birthday in 2011. She passed away in the summer of 2012, but this is an excellent, brief summary and celebration of her long life. :)

Are you a student or do you know a student in the Sault Ste. Marie/St. Joseph Island, Ontario area who would love to spend the summer outdoors, working in the Gardens? We are looking for a few students to help out part-time over the summer. The job can include anything from weeding, to dead-heading, to mowing lawns, transplanting, basically you would be helping Grant with whatever gardening jobs are a priority on the days you are there. Come on down to the Island and visit us. The garden is still looking great, even though the summer is winding down. The flox are still going strong and there is a new purple waterlily starting to open. And if the flowers aren't enough to make you smile, as always there are tons of turtles to feed and frogs to follow. :) Enjoy your long weekend!
