"I want people to see the dress, but focus on the woman." - @verawanggang Today's #fashionmarketing assignment was all about brands & @tennyo_design came into class in full character to do her presentation as the iconic bridal designer herself. She gave us some fun facts, like Vera Wang has designed a full wedding collection not using white! and that she herself got into bridal after shopping for a wedding dress and not being able to find one that met her needs. Love the creativity of our student presentations! what's the craziest thing you've done for a presentation?

We all want to get artistic with fashion sketching and throw our own spin on our figures. I get it, I've been there too! Here are some things to remember when you first start fashion sketching that will increase your skill level to get to where you can start stylizing. 1. Start with the body under the clothes. It's always easier to draw clothes around a figure than to try and guess where the figure is underneath.... 2. Use the head as a measurement when drawing. You draw the head first right? Well if you know where the head is, you know how far down the waist needs to be and so on and so forth. 3. Draw what you KNOW not what you SEE. Let that sink in. "Hey, what are you making?" "A corset." This is the level of talent weve had at our Richard Robinson Summer Camp this season. Corsets are one of the more difficult garments to make. They include complex pattern making and precision sewing. ... We are so happy to have had the opportunity to meet some amazing kids with such talent over the past couple of weeks.
