Now that Vancouver Island seems to be becoming a safer atmosphere, we are happy to announce that we are in the process of gearing back up for training. Courses will be slightly different in regards to size as well as the PPE requirements to attend. All students will be required to complete a health check prior to attending class. We will be starting with OFA level 1 day courses and slowly progress to the OFA level 2 1 week classes and hopefully we will be back in full swing for August OFA 3 2 week classes. As of Tuesday, March 17th, Advanced/Coast First Aid Services Inc. has postponed all training to public and private clients due to the COVID 19 safety concerns. Today, March 20th, we have also made the decision to close our facility completely to the public or any persons outside of our families. These are unprecedented times and our hearts are with everyone taking financial hardships. We feel every single one of those concerns. I will be focusing on my children and attempting... to make this transition they are experiencing as normal and non threatening as I can and encourage everyone to remember there are many elderly and youth that need us to be strong. November 2nd we hold close to our heart as we lost our founder 5yrs ago. Jim Launay was a dedicated father and husband.... but to me he was a leader, a mentor and one of my best friends. It's always hard losing an important member in our lives but everyday I instruct a student, his legacy continues and every call I attend with his/my firehall I know he's proud of the job I do. He taught and influenced so many people in his role with NCFD and this company. We continue to instruct and push forward in his memory. RIP Jim.

We have an OFA level 3 two week class starting Monday at our training facility on Northfield Rd We are just finishing a 1 week Level 2 this week but we have another Level 2 scheduled for May if anyone is in need. Hope everyone's year is going great. Everything is coming together quite nicely at our new location 2100 Northfield Rd. Our new signage is up now which is very easy to spot from either direction on Northfield Rd. Just an update on our schedule. We are fully booked for the rest of February and starting into the 2nd week of March. We can still look at weekend and evening courses but Mon- Fri days are full. We have OFA level 3 2 week courses running March 25 - April 5, April 22... - May 3, and May 13 - 24. We have spots left in our March 18 - 22 OFA 2 1 week course as well. Our Basic Life Support Heart and Stroke classes have been very successful, as well the Heartsaver level of CPR-C classes from the Heart and Stroke Foundation if you are looking at a smaller time commitment that gives you great skills. We hope everyone is enjoying 2019 so far. Our new address is 2100 Northfield Rd. We are just patiently waiting for Facebook to update our proper address. The training facility is located at the back of the property behind the house. Our signage should be up this upcoming week or at the latest next week. We have a OFA level 3 two week course starting Monday January 21st for the next 2 weeks and then a Level 2 1 week immediately after. Following the Level 2 course we have back to back OFA level 3 courses which will bring us into March. Happy New Year! We are ready for another great year. We have Occupational Level 1, Transportation Endorsement and Level 3s already filling up for January. We will also be starting to run the Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support classes this month which replace the old CPRC HCP course. November 2, 2014 we lost an amazing person. Today is always a hard day for us and anyone that cared for this man. I know Jim would be proud of where the company is now. RIP Jimmy.

We still have signage to go up later this week and renovations are still ongoing in parts of the training facilty but 2 classrooms are done and look fantastic. Count down... Worksafebc has created all new Occupational First Aid level 1,2 and 3 programs. Release date is July 1st, 2018. It will be nice to see their old, outdated, poorly written material gone and new, better, current material replacing. We figure the new programs should have all the kinks worked out of them by Worksafebc by the end of the year but after reviewing the new reference manual we are optimistic with the direction of the new material. November 2 will forever be a difficult day for our company. 3yrs ago we lost our friend and a member of our family, Jim Launay. Jim was an amazing man who dedicated his life to helping his community of Cedar as a Firefighter for the North Cedar Fire Department as well as a coach and leader for so many kids growing up, including myself. He taught hundreds of people how to save lives and later moved on to Worksafebc to try to make the province a safer place as well. He was my mentor but more importantly he was one of my best friends. We continue our success 21yrs after Jim started this company because of the passion he instilled in this company. I miss him everyday. RIP Jimmy all of your students will always remember you.
