After yesterdays FordNation announcement, more uncertainty remained as to when we could return to serving our patients who have been so patient and graceful, in going without care for almost 8 weeks. We are just as, if not more frustrated that we, medically trained primary care health practitioners, with all PPE and physical distancing measures in place, are not considered essential in the first phase of opening up our economy (but dog groomers are! ). Weve just received... confirmation that community based clinics are to continue to only treat urgent cases, or offer virtual Physiotherapy until we are hopefully included in the next phase of reopening. Trust us, we are beyond frustrated. We want nothing more than to be able to help all of you! In the meantime, if you have an urgent matter, or would like to set up a virtual appointment, please feel free to call and leave a message 705-566-7200, or email [email protected] WE MISS YOU ALL!! For anyone who would like to be placed on our priority call list, please also call the clinic and leave a message. We promise to have your back whenever we are allowed to. Stay safe See more

To all of our valued patients, Due to the recommendations from the Ontario and Canadian Physiotherapy Associations, and from Public Health, we have had to make the difficult decision to cease operations effective end of day, Monday March 16th, until at least March 30th. The Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association support the recommendations by Public Health authorities to optimize social distancing. We therefore recommend that physiother...apists and physiotherapist assistants providing services in the community only do so to address patients with urgent needs. Those patients whose care and services can be postponed, or can be provided virtually, we strongly recommend doing so until at least after March 30. We recognize that these are exceptional times that require exceptional measures aimed to reduce the spread of the virus and to reduce the demand on the health system. The Associations together are working to ensure that, in this rapidly changing situation, information and resources are provided to members to help them through this time. This is extremely upsetting to us, as we know many of you count on us to decrease your pain and improve your quality of life. If, for any reason, you need to reach us for an urgent inquiry, please know that we are available to communicate via email Angele Carriere - [email protected] Chris Binks - [email protected] Erica Tyne - [email protected] Amanda Rancourt - [email protected] Lyne Lemieux - [email protected] Tierney Gunthorpe - [email protected] Shelly Tiangco - [email protected] We hope that by enforcing social distancing, Canada can get through this pandemic with minimal impact. Until then, take care of yourself and your family. Sincerely, The Team at Advantage Physio

Are you recycling GARBAGE? I have a full house with 5 people living here, guests that visit from out of town and many small gatherings of my local friends too.... I have noticed on my recycling days Im always pulling garbage out of my 5 recycling bins. Today my friend was visiting and put her Tim Hortons cup into recycling recycling. This sparked an interesting conversation of what is and isnt recyclable. I have lived in 5 different cities and learned every city allows different number plastics into recycling. So... with all these conversations about down sizing garbage. Make sure you recycle and compost etc... I wanted to point out, anything with wax lining is not recyclable, plastics number 3, 7 and without a number are also not recyclable. Plastic wrapping from your foods are not recyclable. I mention these specifically because I often find these put into my recycling by well meaning guests. If they are putting it into mine, they are putting it into theirs. So I thought how many other sudburians think items are recyclable when they are not. Lets talk about items we think are but really are not. Example... I just learned the plastic dish from Walmart that holds the large sausages has no number, thus not recyclable according to Sudbury recycling.
