AMERICAN AIRLINES HAS BANNED ME FROM FLYING. This is a photo of my Permobil F3 power wheelchair from before the pandemic. It is shown being off-loaded from a... CRJ-700 aircraft after a successful American Airlines flight. Yesterday, I attempted to take my first flight in more than 7 months. American Airlines REFUSED TO TRANSPORT ME, saying that they created a new policy in June that bans power wheelchairs over 300 pounds. That means Quickie, Quantum, Permobil and many other medically necessary electric wheelchairs can no longer fly. SAME wheelchair, SAME aircraft but now I’m BANNED from flying! I have flown more than ONE MILLION MILES with a power wheelchair, but American Airlines says I’m no longer welcome onboard. PLEASE SHARE to tell American Airlines that DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION IS UNACCEPTABLE!
