Hey everyone we made the news. Taylor from Peterborough This Week and My Kawartha interviewed us about the relocation of Highway 7 and the effect it has had on us, our business and our neighbours. Here is the link https://www.mykawartha.com//10265956-hwy-7-realignment-re/

We are back to regular business hours starting tomorrow, November 3rd. Our road is STILL under construction so please use caution. Thank you everyone for your comments and support. It is a very frustrating time for us but we are doing the best we can. I have complained to every government agency out there, no one is listening. Next step is the media.

There is a small construction road entrance from the new highway which is open to use at your own risk. We have filed complaints with CKL and MTO and hope to have this problem resolved soon. I do apologize for this inconvenience. I encourage you to share your frustrations with us which we will pass along to our City Councillor.

Hi Everyone after a wonderful week off we are back to diving as we wrapped-up our evaluation dives for this season. We want to congratulate three (3) more Open Water Divers. First we would like to congratulate Anna Cooper. She did amazing again facing the challenges of cold and limited visibility. Here is what she had to say: "Hi Sherry and Humberto, Thank you so much for the great experience I had with you. I was quite nervous about diving but had decided it was something I wanted to do and a fear I wanted to get past. You both were so encouraging and supportive. And Humberto was a perfect instructor. Calm, supportive, knowledgeable and also made sure I learned all I needed. I am really looking forward to exploringin some warmer water . "

Hi Everyone. As you know the access to our dive shop for the past four (4) summers, this summer particularly, has been severely impacted by the reconstruction of Highway 7. We never imagined in our wildest dreams that MTO would up and build a new section of highway in front of our home / business. The old highway where we are located is now a municipal road and it too is under construction. I must caution everyone about the section of road coming down the hill to our driveway. It is NOT safe to drive a small vehicle on it is very muddy and your vehicle will sink right down to the fender. See picture.

Adventure Divers 29.09.2020

Our next new diver is Cole Warner, who is enrolled in the Fire Fighter Course at Fleming. He completed his dives with our newest Instructor James Conolly. Cole was so happy after he finished his dives he can't wait to dive again:)

SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility Specialty. Congratulations to Heather Pollock, Jeff Chalmers and Malcom Fraser for completing this specialty last night with their instructor Humberto and Divemaster Dustyn. It was magical night as the mist formed over the river during a full harvest moon. Diving at night requires special lighting, learning new hand signals and enhanced safety protocols - but it can be the most peaceful dive you will ever do. Well done divers!!!

Adventure Divers 23.08.2020

Hi Everyone, We have some more new divers to congratulate!!! This past weekend our feature students from my video clip all completed their evaluation dives. Thank you to their Instructor Humberto Lazcano and Divemaster Quinton Smith.

Congratulations to Linda Elliott and Andrew McCoy for completing their SSI React Right and Diver Stress and Rescue Courses. A Rescue Diver Certification is something to be very proud of. Together with their instructor Humberto Lazcano and Divemaster Taylor Whiteley - Linda and Andrew successfully completed all of the required skills. Photos below are from their course.

SDI Dry Suit Specialty Diver Congratulations to all our Dry Suit Divers who have certified with Adventure Divers this season. Those divers are : Mike Robbins, Rob Bryan, Jeremy Grass, Jacob Kozak, Justin Tighe, Dustyn McCready-DeBruin and most recently Malcolm Fraser and Rhonda Reeves-Christie - Malcolm, Rhonda and Dustyn are pictured below with Instructor Humberto Lazcano. Why do so many divers make the switch to a dry suit? The main reason is WARMTH. A dry suit keeps you ...dry so you have less heat loss which keeps your warmer than a wetsuit allowing you to extend your dive season from early spring to late fall. We have some adventurous divers who winter dive as well. Adventure Divers carry’s a range of Dry Suits to meet all our diver’s needs. So congratulations again to all our new Dry Suit Specialist Divers. See more

Adventure Divers 08.06.2020

Adventure Divers is pleased to introduce our newest SDI Divemaster Quinton Smith. Quinton started diving with us in 2018. He had a very well laid out plan to complete as much diving as possible and take every course available. He has pretty much done just that. His accomplishments include: Open Water Diver, Advanced, Drysuit, Deep, Rescue and most recently Full Face Mask Specialty. His next step is to become an Instructor. As most of you know, Divemasters are an essentia...l part of our community. Quinton demonstrated this when we were in Gananoque camping and diving at Ivy Lea Campground this past month. Quinton dedicated his whole 10 days to diving daily with our community by guiding new and experienced divers, hauling tanks for fills, leading divers on dives in Brockville and the Rothesay, shipwreck as well as ensuring everyone was looked after above and below the water. That was amazing and I know all our divers really appreciated his efforts. Congratulations Quinton on becoming an SDI / Adventure Divers Dive Professional. We are very proud of you.

A Plastic Pandemic. A glut of discarded single-use masks and gloves is washing up on shorelines and littering the seabed. Conservationists have warned that the coronavirus pandemic could spark a surge in ocean pollution -- adding to a glut of plastic waste that already threatens marine life -- after finding disposable masks floating like jellyfish and waterlogged latex gloves scattered across sea beds. Divers have found Covid waste -- dozens of gloves, masks, and bottles of hand sanitizer -- beneath the waves of the Mediterranean, mixed with the usual litter of disposable cups and aluminum cans. 129 billion facemasks are disposed of every month.

Bula!! Welcome to our photos from our most recent trip to the beautiful islands of Fiji. We were a group of 24 adventures who embraced Fijian culture and hospitality and of course the diving and snorkelling. We celebrated mile stones in diving, birthdays and anniversaries. We drank Kava, enjoyed a great foot massage and even dove with some friendly giant Tiger Sharks. Amazing is how all of this trip was. We started our journey in Los Angeles and finally making it to Beqa Island, Fiji. The staff and dive team were awesome, fantastic meals and beautifully decorated Bures (rooms). Filo land Joseph and all the staff thank you so much. Thank you to everyone that joined us and we look forward to going back to Fiji in the future. Vin aka.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with our diving community the passing of one of our divers and friend. On Sunday, December 8, 2019 Christina Collins-Grylicki lost her hard fought battle with cancer. With her family close by she passed in her sleep Sunday morning at PRHC. Chris was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandmother, friend and dive buddy. She loved life and enjoyed every moment above and below the water. Humberto and I met Chris, as she preferred to be calle...d together with her husband Steve and son Tyler in 2012. when they signed up for scuba lessons with us. It didn’t take me long to recognize that Chris had a very fiery personality but an even bigger, generous heart. After getting certified Steve and Chris got the travel bug and joined us on numerous diving adventures. It was always a pleasure to have them join us and never a dull moment when Chris was around. She shared her opinion to the resort / dive management whether they liked it or not and yet in the same moment she would give the clothes off her back to those that needed them She was a very unique person. I feel honoured to have known Chris and call her my friend. Her family are honouring her wishes, she will be cremated and her urn buried at sea in a unique underwater cemetery, located just off the coast of Florida . She did not want a funeral or celebration of life, but to be remembered by the way she touched your life. You will be missed my friend but never forgotten. We love you, may you now rest in peace.

Wow what a fantastic week aboard the Aqua Cat Liveabaord. The trip was seven (7) nights cruising and diving the Exuma Cays of the Bahamas. Captain Manny and his crew were awesome. The food, accommodations and of course the diving was excellent with sharks, turtles and rays on every dive. We can't forget the adventures on land with Captain James of the Sea Dog - feeding the pigs, iguanas, visiting Boo Boo Hill and that awesome sunset cruise. We had a wonderful time with all our divers the crew loved our group and can't wait to have us back onboard again in the future.

As well three Deep Diver Specialty Divers - John, Jess and Mike plus Marilyn who completed her Advanced Adventure Diver course.
