Paramhansa Yogananda on his Autobiography: When I have left this world, this book will change the lives of millions. It will be my messenger when I am gone. I have been intensely moved to receive letters from thousands of readers. Their comments, and the fact that the book has been translated into many languages, encourages me to believe that the West has found in these pages an affirmative answer to the question: "Has the ancient science of yoga any worthwhile place in the l...ife of the modern man?" Sir, what passage in Autobiography of a Yogi do you consider the most inspiring for the average man? a student asked. The Master reflected for a while, then said: These words of my guru, Sri Yukteswar: ‘Forget the past. Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine. Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now.’ visit: www.bioofayogi.com to reserve your early bird special on Adventures of a Yogi: easy reading translation of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda...coming soon!!

Steve Jobs planned every detail of his own memorial service... including the brown box each attendee received as a farewell gift... Mark Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.com...recounted his feelings at the moment when he opened the box: "This is going to be good," he recalled. "I knew that this was a decision [Steve] made, and whatever it was, it was the last thing he wanted us all to think about." The box contained the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda...[Steve...'s] last message to us was that here is Yogananda's book.... Actualize yourself. "I look at Steve as a very spiritual person...he had this incredible realization--that his intuition was his greatest gift and he needed to look at the world from the inside out." visit: www.bioofayogi.com to reserve your early bird special on Adventures of a Yogi: easy reading translation of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda...coming soon!!

"You might not know the name Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952), but his teachings and influence on his devoted followers span the furthest reaches of the globe. His vision has inspired innovators like Apple’s Steve Jobs (apparently Yogananda’s book was the only one he had on his iPad), Beatles guitarist George Harrison and hip hop magnate Russell Simmons. The Indian yogi and guru was known as the father of yoga in the west and through his wisdom he established the notion of personal enlightenment for contemporary audiences to become one of the greatest spiritual figures of modern times." visit: www.bioofayogi.com to reserve your early bird special on Adventures of a Yogi: easy reading translation of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda...coming soon!!

"George Harrison, lead guitarist of the Beatles, received his first copy of Autobiography of a Yogi from Ravi Shankar in 1966 and, according to Shankar, "that was where his interest in Vedic culture and Indian-ness began."[24] Gary Wright, who wrote the song Dream Weaver, wrote: "In 1972, my friend George Harrison invited me to accompany him on a trip to India. A few days before we left, he gave me a copy of the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. Needless ...to say the book inspired me deeply, and I became totally fascinated with Indian culture and philosophy. My trip was an experience I will never forget."[25] The actress Mariel Hemingway says that she was introduced to the Autobiography of a Yogi by Peter Evans, a direct disciple of Yogananda. She was "mesmerized by the Autobiography of a Yogi and loved the whole great Hindu tradition of spiritual seeking ..."[26] The actor Dennis Weaver gave a copy of the book to Linda Evans, saying that it had changed his life. Evans says that "Because of Dennis I took the first step in what would become a life long spiritual journey."[27] Andrew Weil, director of the program in Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona, wrote the book Eating Well for Optimum Health. He mentioned reading the Autobiography of a Yogi which he said, "awakened in me an interest in yoga and Indian religious philosophies." He continued, "It is filled with wondrous tales from an exotic land, none more amazing than that of Giri Bala, 'a woman yogi who never eats.'"[28] from wikipedia visit: www.bioofayogi.com to reserve your early bird special on Adventures of a Yogi: easy reading translation of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda...coming soon!!

SURVIVE OR THRIVE--in troubling times? I am free of all limiting thoughts, Patterns Beliefs... Habits Behaviours Fears and Perceptions When I think of the present moment, and this sudden new reality...I am very grateful for this affirmation. By affirming this multiple times daily for a few years now, I have been able to perceive the good that will come from this particular set of circumstances. I have been able to follow guidance which has led me to be well prepared. I face the ever-changing landscape of the future without fear, but with confidence that I will successfully navigate the tumult. I observe that this situation is causing us to very quickly hone in on what is essential, beneficial, practical and wise--and to have no attachment to that which is not. It is causing us to step-up our mindful living practices, to consider our patterns of consumption on every level. It has caused me to easily let go of some habits which I knew were ultimately not in my best interest. I look around and am very grateful for the small and big miracles I see everyday.although times are troubled, I feel the support of the universe moving me in the right direction, and moving all of humanity through a tremendous spiritual maturing. On an individual level, those that mature will fare better in the uncertain future; and as a whole, humanity will come out better than we were going in. How much better will depend significantly on how long, painful and destructive this lesson will bewe need a lesson like this, a karmic lesson in real-time, a direct consequence of our gluttony for meat. Not something that will wipe out everyone, but just enough that everyone around the globe will feel it. Now we are forced to really see ourselves; to see our destructive patterns, habits, behaviours, fears and perceptions. Choose freedom instead. Move with grace into this maturing--contemplate, reflect, absorb, reconsider, meditate...and move towards a plant based diet for the sake of the planet and the people it supports.

I am sharing this because I believe SO many people could benefit...For several months now, as my life has seriously transitioned, I have been VERY faithful to this practice of letting go of limiting thoughts. Whenever a thought of conflict, worry, stress or anything negative at all has crossed my mind, I have stopped myself by mentally repeating: "I choose to let go of all limiting thoughts, habits, beliefs, patterns and perceptions"..I have found this serves 2 purposes very ...effectively, on the mechanical level, it simply interrupted and supplants negative habitual thought; And on a deeper level, it invokes my willpower and calls in a new desired state, thus telling my brain and/or higherself to begin to create it...I would say it has been profoundly effective as I have gone through massive upheavals in the last year with more EASE than I could have imagined, and life seems on the upswing for sure...Now if this seems airy fairy to you, watch this woman craft the same experience into scientific talk...although her mantra isn' t nearly as powerful as the one I use--it also seems to work!! Many devotees have been drawn to the teachings of this yogi through that autobiography, and many of their stories about how they came to find that work include some of the most inspiring "miracles" of modern American culture. Such world-renowned figures as Dennis Weaver, Steve Jobs, George Harrison, and Elvis Presley were influenced by the Autobiography of a Yogi and the teachings of the great guru. Weaver even became a lay minister and spoke often at many of the SRF temples in California. visit: www.bioofayogi.com to reserve your early bird special on Adventures of a Yogi: the easy ready translation of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda
