Reunited with Willow and what a happy reunion it was!! When lockdown hit this gentle Newfoundlander had plenty of family to take her out, but as work got busy Willow started to cry when she wasn't being taken out as often as she was used to. We're so happy to be there for Willow and her loving family. Willow loves play dates with her bud Tulo, loooves cold weather, and is very patient with puppies. She's as sweet as they come!!

Holy Hanna what a big dump...of snow that is!! The pups on our group walk weren't phased at all, although there was a whole lot of shakin' goin' on to get the snow off! How did your dog react to the snowstorm? Love it or run back in as soon as they set foot outside?

Salted sidewalks and trails- a Dog’s Nemesis. Your dog will inevitably start lifting its poor paws or stop altogether. Salt and other chemical de-icers cause irritation to dogs, andcan cause dryness, cracking and even burns to a dog's pads. Here are 4 tips to help prevent pain from salt: Outfit your dog with booties... Apply paw balm on your dog’s paws before you go out. You can even use Vaseline! Take your dog to a park or forest where the trails aren’t salted While you walk on the sidewalk/path have your dog walk along the snow covered grass beside you (as shown in the picture) Don’t forget to wash your dog’s paws with soap and water after you get home to remove any salt and other chemical de-icers they were exposed to. Road salt alone can containchemicals such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride and magnesium chloride. These chemicals are toxic to your dog. Sally

Hi! I’m Laurie, founder and Pack Leader of Adventure Tails! Looking back on my posts, I don’t think I’ve introduced myself, so here goes! I moved to Peterborough with my family in tow 2.5 years ago in part to be closer to my parents, but my main drive was to start my own dog walking/pet sitting business. I had spent the previous 20 years in corporate and found it to be ungratifying. My passions had always been dogs, the outdoors, and travel, and when I left my corporat...e job in Toronto to move to Peterborough, I set out to make my dreams come true. I wanted to combine my love of dogs with my love for the outdoors, and helping people get their dogs outdoors where they could explore Peterborough’s beautiful trails was the best way I could do that. It’s extremely gratifying for me to serve this community, and I love to see the happy faces and tail wags when arriving to see our furry clients, and hear the happy feedback about our services from grateful human clients. I'd love to hear your story of how you went from dull career to one full of purpose and passion!

Sweet puppy Teddy came into town by boat and went on his own puppy pet sit while Mom and Dad pampered themselves. Teddy had fun on his adventure at Jackson Park and loved dipping his toes in the river!
