Just won a very difficult CRA appeal for a very special client. Personal and corporate reassessments for close to $400,000 in taxes, penalties and interest are cancelled. Our client’s name is clear. The team gathered in my office, we called the client on speaker, broke the news. The client was at work, didn’t believe me at first, thought we were joking, we laughed together. In the end of the call he said he always believed in Advotax Law, he knew we would win #celebrating #grateful #ourclientsarethebest #lovemyjob #taxlawyer #taxlawyertoronto #taxlawyercanada #cra #craappeals

The government has just announced a new business loans initiative - Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program (HASCAP). Applications can be submitted starting from Monday, February 1st. Loans will start at between $25,000 and $1 million for a single business depending on the size of the operation, and run up to $6.25 million for companies with multiple locations like a chain of hotels or restaurants. The rates will be set at 4%, terms will be up to 10 years, with u...p to a 12-month postponement of principal payments at the start of the loan. In order to qualify, companies must show a year-over-year revenue drop of 50 per cent or more over three months, not necessarily consecutive, in the eight months before filing an application. Companies will also have to show that they at least applied for either the federal wage or rent subsidies. The federally backed loan can be used for rent, utilities and help with payroll, among other costs, to keep operations running through public health restrictions, but can't be used to pay or refinance existing loans. #HASCAP #covid19support #businessloan https://www.ctvnews.ca//hard-hit-businesses-get-rules-feb-
