So, getting busy with the new Post Covid-19 Guesthouse! Got the outdoor fireplace and lounge ready for guests. Also, the oversized chess set on the patio is ready to play. (Note the use of marble from the Cowichan Valley to create the chess board)! 1

We are still adjusting to the cancelling of our 2020 Season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Initially, we were concerned with winding down the Season, refunding deposits (Air Canada take note!!) and looking at new business models on how to continue to host events and vacation rentals from the property. We will be able to consider new bookings starting in July that are compatible with the new requirements. Our focus will be on smaller, more intimate events of groups that are already associated with one another. We will also be offering vacation rentals. More on that in subsequent posts. In the meantime, let us know what events you may be considering and if we can help. Take care (at a distance of six feet).

Good Afternoon, It is with a heavy heart and much disappointment that I have been asked to pass along this message from the owner of The Affinity Guesthouse, Tanner Elton. As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and its current and projected impact on Canada's economy the sensible course of action at this time is to shut down the Events Centre for the 2020 Season and to stop marketing and planning for the 2021 Season. This is the reality that we are facing along with virtually... all of the businesses and services in the hospitality sector in British Columbia. we need to notify all those who have currently booked the venue that in the interest of public safety we are canceling all events currently booked for the 2020 Season. This will result in the repayment of the full deposit rather than the 90% stipulated in the contract. We will do our best to refund the deposits in a timely way and expect to have this fully dealt with no later than the end of May. 2020. I will be staying on as the GM of Accommodation and Events until March 31, 2020. I am sure that many of you will have questions and I will do my best to answer them in a timely fashion. Any questions directly related to deposit refunds should be directed to Tanner Elton at [email protected]. Again, I wish to offer you my deepest apologies. This was a very difficult decision to make and one which was not taken lightly. Nicole
