How descriptive can touch be? VERY! Helen Keller was able to distinguish the different instruments being played on the radio. She would place her fingertips on the radio to feel the vibrations. Our fingertips are equipped with Merkel cells which provide information and are essential for light touch sensation. An excellent example of this is the ability for the visually impaired to read braille.
