We live in a world where the future of work is going to change quickly. According to the Future of Jobs report from the World Economic Forum, 65% of middle-school aged children will graduate into jobs that don’t yet exist. . Automation, AI and robotics will change the kinds of work we do, and in many ways already have. Rather than fighting automation, we need to embrace it as new technologies and tools for job creation or to change our relationship with work. . In fighting job loss, we need to create choices and access to opportunities for education and job retraining so that everyone has the kinds of skills that will keep them employed in our changing and automated future. #AffordNation

The drive for homeownership as a means of economic investment is the result of decades of pressure from homebuilding organizations and realtors. This has lead to rising costs of housing, leaving many people unable to enter the market. . It’s time we stop the suburban sprawl and allow for development within our cities to add more choices in the housing market for all. #AffordNation

Where you can go is what you can do. Transportation decisions are made based on where people go, seemingly on the choices they are making, but rarely do transit planners consider where they would go given the choice. What appear to be choices may in fact be necessities. . . We need to think about how people would travel most effectively to access any and all opportunities available to them. Let’s work together to help people get to where they need to go. #AffordNation
