Thanks to all who patronized Afterwords Bookstore over 46 years in business, from the original idea of the Furlong Brothers and Don Austin (1971-1977) through the 28 year ownership of Jean McCausland (1977-2005) through the 12 years I have operated it with her daughter, my wife Catherine McCausland, who actually started working at what was her mothers store 40 years ago and thus has the longest association with Afterwords of anyone. Thanks to all who called, wrote or posted to express their support and feelings at the closure of the store. We will remain open from 10 AM to 6 PM every day until the end of the month, October 31st, to try and sell off our books to pay outstanding bills. Books will be going for $1 to $2.

We have tried to keep Afterwords going to serve our community and support our family. In the end we could do neither. We were shut down by CRA. Unfortunately, it happened quickly and we have no alternative. Good-bye.

How to Avoid Huge Ships and Other Implausibly Titled Books. Come in and nab them tonight before we close for the holiday weekend! We are open until 9 and will reopen Monday morning at 10 am!
