Today, I finished my #100dayproject. I had decided to work on 6 x5 mixed media pieces that would be a mix of paint, recycled aluminium from the Nespresso capsules and some threads. After a few days, I realized that it was the perfect opportunity to use part of painting trials accumulated over the years and that I preferred using embroidery threads. What I taught would be a quick exercise ended up taking a big chunk of my days which should not be surprising as I have it a ten...dency to make time consuming pieces. I’m proud of having kept the daily practice and I’m also proud of the results. Now it’s my apartment that needs my attention / Aujourd’hui, j’ai terminé mon défi de 100 jours, j’avais décidé de travailler sur un format de 15cmx13cm en mixed media qui comprendrait de la peinture, de l’aluminium des capsules Nespresso recyclées et de fils. Après quelques jours, je me suis rendue compte que c’était l’occasion d’utiliser des parties de peintures exercises accumulées au cours des années et aussi que je préfèrais le fil à broder. Ce qui allait me prendre peu de temps à finit par consommer une bonne partie de mes journées mais cela n’a rien de surprenant en considérant ma tendance à produire des pièces qui requièrent du temps. Je suis fière d’avoir gardé le rythme journalier et je suis aussi fière du résultat. Days 73-84, I did not know what to expect with this challenge but I really thought that I could not stick to it diligently. Even though there are 16 days left, I know that I’ll manage to stick with it. And I’m happy for it because I’m starting to get a bit more clarity about what I like and the look I want, I think that’s a #win / Je ne savais pas à quoi m’attendre avec ce défi, mais je ne pensais m’y tenir avec diligence, mais c’est presque la fin et je suis contente car je commence à observer plus de clarité et d’intention, je pense que c’est une victoire pour moi #the100dayproject #messyartist #embroideryonpaper #recyclingnespresso #mixedmedia #ontheroadtodiscovery #iloveembroiderythreads #vancouverartist #abstractart

Days 61-72 Doing this challenge makes me realize that: 1- having old painting exercises available is very convenient, 2- stitching on paper: love it, 3- tendance to fill spaces rather than creating new ones Ce que j’ai remarqué en faisant ceci:... 1- avoir de vieux exercises de peinture est très pratique, 2- coudre sur du papier : j’aime et je vais continuer à le faire dans le futur, 3- designs totalement influencés par le fond de peinture et tendance à remplir des espaces plutôt qu’en créer de nouveaux. #the100dayproject #the100dayproject2021 #stitchesonpaper #recyclednespresso #upcyclingnespresso #paintstitchesandnespresso See more
