Hello everyone! After what feels like a very long Fall and Winter of feeling like fish out of water, the Agassiz-Harrison Aquanauts are excited to dive back into the pool! The 2021 season will run from May 2 - August 20, 5 days per week at the Ferny Coombe Pool. Registration opens for returning AHA swimmers on March 1 and to the public on March 15 - stay tuned for more updates! Similar to the 2020 season, AHA will be closely following the recommendations for youth sport set forth by Public Health, Lifesaving BC and the BCSSA, therefore registration spaces will be limited. Swimmers must be able to swim 25m (one length) unassisted.
Thanks to all who showed up for the AHA AGM last night and congratulations to Dustin who won the registration prize! I extend a huge thank you and introduce the AHA family to: President: Kate Wouda, -Vice President: @Maria Gorelova, -Secretary: Kim VanLochem, -Registrar: Ashley Craig-Rydell, and the following Directors at Large: Director of Officials: Jen McMullin,; Director of Awards and Apparel: Willa Balfour, Director of Equipment: Dustin Neufeld. All of them agreed to stand for the above positions and were voted in by acclamation. Nicole Viens is completing her term as Treasurer. With this dedicated, supportive crack team, AHA is in excellent hands going in to 2021.
If you are swimming with AHA this summer please join the private group AHA SwimClub for updates https://www.facebook.com/groups/104518469583757/
There are a few spots left...
Hi swim fam! We are so excited to announce that AHA has been given the green light to get in the pool! Please read this post in its entirety before continuing. The modified Summer 2020 season will begin June 22, and will run through to August 21. Unfortunately due to the current circumstances there will not be any regional swim meets, however AHA coaches are working hard to design an amazing training program for all swimmers!... Registration will also look a bit different this year. The procedure will be as follows: **Interested families are asked to send an email to [email protected] and will then receive a waiver and indemnity agreement that needs to be read, signed, and sent back. AHA's updated policies with respect to maintaining safe distancing and adhering to health and safety recommendations set forth by Public Health, the Lifesaving Society of BC, and BCSSA, will also be included in the email for parents/guardians to review with participating swimmers. **Upon the club's receipt of completed waiver and indemnity documents, the registrar will contact you to begin the registration process through Active. **All registrants will initially be placed on a waitlist, and will only be moved off of the waitlist after it has been confirmed that the club has received the required documents, and if there is a space available in the appropriate swim group. We ask that you take your time to carefully read over the waiver and indemnity agreement and policy documents prior to signing. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Executive committee if you have any additional questions!! Questions regarding registration: [email protected] All other questions/inquiries: [email protected]
