Miss Cheers reporting here this morning! Well it was a long day yesterday and human Mom says she was very happy to be home and safe. First the good news....we went to visit a really nice vet clinic today for our hearing test. It was 2.5 hr drive each way. The tech said she was so impressed with us all and that we were the best cattle dog puppies ever tested!!! Oh and we all passed our hearing test, all full hearing! On the way home we slept the whole time and missed out o...n the action. I guess our van over heated and a nice police officer and tow truck driver, who just happened to be in a parking lot we pulled over to, assisted us. Long story short we made it home without being towed thankfully. When we got home we were ready to rock the kitchen but poor Human Mom was ready for a nap! Haha!! I'm putting up this picture to draw your attention. The year 2020 has been a tough year for everyone and it breaks my heart when I hear about the scams that are taking place. This is one of my well bred puppies, going to a loving home in a few weeks. She is a purebred ACD, will be registered with the CKC, comes from health tested parents, temperament assessed, vet checked, etc. Sadly I have been chatting with a couple of people lately who have been scammed by backyard bre...eders on Kijjii. They thought they have done their research, only to find out not. Recently a scammer, has taken deposits from folks and now they have been told the litter was stolen, contact has been lost and so has their money. Likely there were no puppies to begin with. Demand for puppies, not just our breed but others as well has been unprecedented this year. I have never experienced anything like it in close to 35 years I have been breeding dogs. Keeping up with the inquires has been challenging at times. It is impossible to keep up with the demand for puppies, nor do I want to. Please do your research, ask for references, look to the Canadian Kennel Club or this club for a list of reputable, responsible and ethical breeders....breeders who follow a Code of Ethics. Visitations with kennels is also challenging because of health protocols in place, but most will try and accommodate you safely. However, be patient as they too have ensure their safety and their dogs as well. Throw caution to the wind if you are purchasing off of Kijji and the likes of. People are paying ridiculous amounts of money for pups that are crossbred or not proven to be purebred if they are claiming they are, not from health tested parents, not properly assessed for the right homes, not vet checked, etc. I have taken many calls over the last few months from people who have bought puppies from a backyard breeder and are experiencing problems, and like other ethical breeders these folks are turning to them for help now. If you want a rescue, work with a reputable one. Some breeders will be able to help you if they themselves work with reputable ones too. We are all in this for the love of our breed, let's do our part to ensure we help to preserve its work ethics and integrity. Cheers. See more
