GOVERNOR OLUWAROTIMI AKEREDOLU AND HIS LEADERSHIP STYLE. This morning, let's look at this issue without political or party colorations. Ondo State is supposedly... an APC State. But in the State, the three Senators are not in agreement with the governor who is the chief security officer of the State! Almost the 9 Members of House of Representatives are against him. Just yesterday, 9 of the 26 Members of the State Assembly openly demonstrated that they're not on the same page with our governor. Of the 14 that signed the impeachment notice against the Deputy Governor, 6 signed because of financial inducement. 3 signed because of home solidarity. 2 signed to avenge their insults from the Deputy Governor while 1 signed because he believed it's better to allow Aketi to complete another four years so that he'll be in a position to contest since he's still young and the fund is royally available! With what I have said so far, it means that governance in Ondo State is a one man show! The truth is that, despite being hand picked, about 11 of the 18 Council Chairmen in the State are uncomfortable with Mr Governor's method of administration. Almost all the Cabinet members, Board Chairmen etc, are grumbling! The situation is tough and agonizing and hence there's heavy disunity and disharmony in the process of governance in the State! Painfully, the governor doesn't seem to be perturbed by the implication of what's happening in the State. He abuses party leaders and insults and coerces the royal fathers and the spiritual leaders to do what they're not happy to do willingly! The civil servants are suffering in silence - waiting for election day to pull out the red card for a governor that has come to impoverish them! The only people who love Akeredolu in the State are the few Aketi team members who are priviledge to get little crumbs that drop from the table with those who are pretentiosly waiting to grab election money on the day of election! This later group has developed thick skin with resilient determination to take their own pound of the flesh from Mr Governor. Because those who want to pull the red card are sycophants, their activities on the Social media have blindfolded Mr Governor to the extent that he is no longer mindful of the political dungeon ahead of him as he dances his macerbre dance! The beaters of the drums that give him the rhythms he enjoys are themselves, hiding sharpened dagars with which to stab the back at the set time. In all this, the State is the victim being unfortunately going through a turbulent time! See more

IMPEACHMENT OF HON. ALFRED AGBOOLA AJAYI IS DEAD ON ARRIVAL! It is no longer news that Hon. Agboola Ajayi the Deputy Governor of Ondo State decamped to PDP. As ...a result of that, the Ondo State House of Assembly have purportedly commenced impeachment process against the Deputy Governor. For the house to impeach the Depury Governor, the House containing 26 members needs 18 signatures of members to achieve this. As at today, only 14 signed for, 9 Signed against and 3 abstained. See Section 188 of 1999 Constitution as Amended. At the plenary session of the house today, 9 out of 26 members signed a document dissociating themselves from the impeachment. The implication of this is that the house cannot get the required number and as such, the impeachment is dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly is committing contempt of court as he has been personally served the process of court to challenge any attempt to impeachment the Deputy Governor. Under the principle of Lis Pendis, the Speaker ought not to do anything to over reach the court and the other party and should not do anything to destroy the res in this case. I call on the Governor of Ondo State who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a former President of Nigerian Bar Association who has sworn to uphold the Nigerian Constitution to ensure that the Constitution of Nigeria and the Judicial process is not trampled upon in this vexed issue of impeachment. No one is saying his Deputy Governor cannot be impeached but let the impeachment be in accordance with the Constitution and institution of Court should also not be violated under the watch of His Excellency. TOLU BABALEYE ESQ writes from the office of the Citizens. 07/07/2020.

lmpeachment Plan : Ondo Deputy Governor Drags Assembly To Court The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon Agboola Ajayi, on Monday dragged the State House of Assem...bly to court over his planned impeachment by the lawmakers of the state. There are fears that the State House of Assembly may begin the impeachment process against Ajayi on Tuesday for leaving the ruling party to opposition. But Ajayi through his lawyer filed the suit seeking to halt the impeachment proceeding and enforce his fundamental right of association. Aside the House of Assembly, the suit filed by his lawyers has the Inspector General of Police, State Commissioner Of Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr David Oleyeloogun as defendants. The suit filed by Mr I.
