As an FYI this Ontario rent freeze doesn’t apply to federal housing co-ops as they don’t fall under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). However, subsidized households living in Ontario co-ops under the Housing Services Act (HSA) are affected by this legislation.

Happy 35th anniversary Rooftops Canada! Over the past 35 years, Rooftops Canada and its partners have improved the lives of tens of thousands of families with better homes and communities. Over $39 million has been mobilized to build capacity for housing projects and programs. Over 525 technical assistance missions were carried out in 36 countries, and over 360 study visitors from 21 countries have been hosted in Canada. The Agency never imagined a pandemic when it drew up its model Management Services Agreement. We developed it for co-ops to use when they hire a company to manage their property without the need to be on site. The goal was to set out clear expectations for both the co-op and the management company. Even in these unusual times housing co-ops are still getting the services they pay for.
