Agents confuse Marketing with Advertising...here's the best explanation I've ever read: Marketing is scientific...advertising is artistic. Marketing provokes a response. It's Trackable, Measurable and Accountable What we see a lot of on Social Media is advertising of homes, open houses, Market Stats. All good & nothing wrong with it if the goal is to create Awareness. However, where agents miss the point on this is that they "think" that they're Marketing by posting those me...ntioned above. What they're really doing is advertising...the listing, open house & stats. Marketing, on the other hand is NOT doing the above...it's about Provoking a potential Buyer or Seller's response. Jamming pics of listings, time of your open houses etc...doesn't provoke a response from anyone. It's a shot in the dark. Who goes to to any social media platform to look for a home? Answer: NOBODY! But...anyone who is looking for a home is looking at websites, apps or their looking through their agent property matches.
