Agritopia Tours will visit Zilt Proefbedrijf, or Salt Test Company in May. They do research into the cultivation of salt tolerant crops in the north of Holland. The centre tests the tolerance of plant species to sea water. Seaweed is being tested as a practical source of biomass for the production of energy and food. Local chefs are imagining tasty new products like a spicy salty salad of young beetroot leaves or, how about a salty potato dish served with cold beer? ...
