Having good ventilation will always be reflected in your wallet, on your roof lifetime, and in your indoor temperature. Lack of ventilation will cause your house temperature to rise. Just imagine how warm your home can get if the sun is facing your roof every day, this causes trapped air in your attic that will eventually heat the rest of your home, making your energy bills higher as you try to combat it and also decreasing the lifetime of your roof. So make sure you watch this video to find out if you have the proper ventilation on your roof or if it's time for you to give us a call

Does a new roof assure that your ice damming issues are going to be resolved? We often get questions about using shingles on low slope roofs. Take a look at this roof inspection we did in Cottage Country to learn if this is a good idea or not, and most importantly why.

Do you know what’s the right amount of deposit to give your roofer before they start any work on your project? Is it 20%... 30%... or even *gasp* 40%? Absolutely NOT. Unfortunately, I hear stories of unethical roofers ripping off unsuspecting homeowners with such ridiculously high amounts of deposits all the time... So make sure you watch this video to find out exactly how much deposit you should be paying at the most, and why

Make Sure Your Open Metal Valley is Installed Properly

A metal valley will add durability and longevity to any roofing system. Make sure it's installed properly!

Closed valleys are used most often due to their aesthetic qualities. However, ice and water are not shed as quickly with a closed valley and could lead to the granule loss on the shingles. Also, depending on the type of shingle used, the thickness and weight of the shingle may cause them to not lay flat across the roof joint.

Today was a hard day as we said goodbye to our brother and coworker Shawn. Our journey with Shawn began 3 years ago when he joined our company as an installer. He was referred from a fellow employee who let us know that Shawn was a hard worker who had a troubled past and wanted to get back on track. I could immediately tell that Shawn was genuine. He was the real deal. He had a kind heart, a great work ethic and was a team player. Shawn was easy to talk to. He made frien...ds easily and had a way of making everyone around him feel included. Shawn and I became close and over time he opened up about his ongoing struggle with addiction. You could tell it had a hold of him, but you could also tell that he was not giving in to it. He fought hard every day I knew him, always trying to better himself and be the best person he could be for those he loved. He loved his family, his dog Gunner, his baseball, weightlifting, mountain biking, and spending time with friends. I remember how excited he was when he got his own place. He worked hard and celebrated every success, no matter how small, because he knew he’d earned it. He was so committed to going to treatment. He felt like he was getting a new lease on life and was excited about finally getting the tools he needed to manage his addiction. I remember speaking to him in December before he went in. He was very clear and realistic in his expectations. He was under no illusions that treatment was a fix all or a cure. As always, Shawn put on his game face and put the work in. We will always remember him for his smile and his energy for life. We love you Shawn and we wilI miss you. We’re sad to see you go but glad you’re not struggling or in pain any more. Rest in peace brother. Until we see you in the next life.
