Great way to start a Thursday... A random act of kindness from a current student to their instructor - Stacey Zeer. " I wanted to let you know that your class i...s awesome. I was never a great student and always had trouble retaining information. You make it engaging and fun and know how to ask the right questions to get the group thinking. I actually look forward to coming to your class after a long day at work. I am learning so much and we are a good group of guys that all have the same goal in mind. I think I speak on behalf of our whole class when I say we are very to happy to have you as our AFA instructor. See you Thursday!" KUDOS STACEY!
The career path as a First Responder, Fire Fighter, EMS, First Aid Instructor/Attendants etc all rely on good back health. POP Fitness is putting together a few posts focused on back health and some ideas on proper lifting techniques and exercises over the next week. Take a look and follow!
Were happy to be a part of something so important like what Henry Dunant started all those years ago.
Reminder for this weekend.
Have you had the important trick-or-treat safety discussion with your little ghouls & goblins yet? The Partners for Safety will be patrolling Calgary streets to... give trick-or-treaters easy access to help on October 31. More than 800 vehicles will be patrolling Calgary streets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., providing high-visibility assistance for anyone enjoying Halloween fun. Discuss these tips from Constable Jeremy Shaw with your littles before sending them out on their route this week. Student Feedback from a private course held in Calgary - I just wanted to pass along a comment we received this morning in regards to the first aid class that... was held in Calgary yesterday. A very senior employee, who has attended a lot of First Aid Training Classes (both through Red Cross and St. Johns Ambulance), commented that the instructor (Amellia..not sure on spelling!) was one of the best instructors he has had!! Please pass this kudos along. Kudos Amelia!
In warm weather it is not smart to leave pets in cars. With windows cracked open, the temperature inside your vehicle can increase in minutes. Forr further public safety tips check out @CGYFireFighters on Twitter! #yycfire
