Aanii, Boozhoo, Shekoli, Koolamalsi The government recently passed legislation to make September 30th a federal statutory holiday called National Day for Truth ...and Reconciliation. This holiday provides an important learning opportunity for all of us to take time to pause and reflect; and have important conversations about Canada’s tragic legacy of residential schools. SOAHAC’s priority is to provide continuity of care for our clients and we will be open for September 30th and will remain open; hosting events, providing programming, teachings on the importance and significance of this day. As part of the reconciliation process, SOAHAC will acknowledge this day to honour First Nations, Inuit and Métis Survivors, their families and communities to ensure public remembrance of our shared history and the generational harm caused by residential schools. The Healing of Seven Generations will be hosting several COVID-19 testing’s, at the center 300 Frederick Street Kitchener. The dates for testing will be: Wedn...esday May 6th from 10am-2pm Wednesday May 13th from 3pm-7pm Saturday May 23rd from 11am-3pm. If you wish to be tested, even if you have no symptoms, for peace of mind. Please bring your health card, you will also require to provide contact information for your results. I understand that if you test negative, you will not be contacted. Please remember to social distance while you attend the testing, if you get a drive to the Centre and you see a few people ahead of you, please stay in your car.
