Following the incident that occurred on September 24th at our Port of Saint John installation, health officials have concluded that there were no explosions and that no workers were exposed to toxic environments. It has been determined that the cause of the fire was an undetected nonferrous chunk of material that overheated. AIM is taking the situation seriously and with a view to prevention, is currently reviewing which technological changes can practically be made to prevent this from happening again.

We wish to inform you that a fire occurred at our Port of Saint John facility late last night. The fire was quickly contained and controlled and there are no injuries. At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown. AIM is cooperating with the fire department and local authorities to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
