We would like to thank everyone for coming out to our Second Annual Aimee Gordon Children’s Track and Field Event! We only had a few kids but they all had a bla...st, and in the end that’s all that matters! Sending out huge thank you’s to: -The Sydney Mines Ball Field for letting us use their facilities -The Ball Field Summer Staff for all their help -Esso Sydney Mines -Kim Rideout - Special Olympian and gold medalist Aimee Gordon - The Sydney Mines Community Policing Office Staff -All of the parents and Guardians And of course -All of the little athletes that did amazing at all of the activities! We are beyond happy, proud and super excited to announce that we raised... . . . .... $1167 AND COUNTING!!! for the Johnstone Crecent Youth Centre and the Sydney Mines Community Policing Office from our 6th Annual Jail and Bail Fundraiser!! We would to put out a MASSIVE thank you to all of the "Criminals/arrestees" for being such good sports and for helping us raise all this money for such an amazing cause! A Big thank you to all who have came to the ball field and helped "bail" out our criminals! A thank you is also going out to all of the people who called, texted, emailed and messaged us to issue warrants for people's arrest. Thank you to our community Police Officier Cst. Chuck Romard for going around and "arresting" Cape Breton's Most Wanted and most dangerous criminals!! A big thank you to all of the Sydney Mines Community Policing Office's Summer Grant workers as well as the office's volunteers Thank you going out to the Sydney Mines Ball field and all of their summer staff and volunteers for allowing us to use their property for the jail and bail. and last but not least thank you to our amazing "judge" Shirley McNeil! You did amazing and helped us figure out bail and kept everyone in line! Without all of your help this fundrasier would not have happend! *We would also like to thank Mike Black from the black spoon for being a great sport and for donating very generiously to our fundraiser! Him and his kitchen staff raised about $350 for Mike's Bail which helped our fundraiser immensely!* Thank you everyone! We can't wait to arrest more of your friends, family and co-workers next year!! The Sydney Mines Community Policing Office is hosting a FREE Movie Night on Thursday August 15th, 2019 @ The Sydney Mines Ball Field (150 Pitt Street), Nicole Meaney Field. The Movie starts at Dusk (Around 8:45) and will run until about 10:30-11pm The movie being played is the Christopher Robin (2018 version)... **Canteen services will be Available!!** This movie option is Kid Friendly and is completely up to the parents discretion, this event is open to ALL ages! The rain date for this event is to be determined. Happening today! Bring the kids out for some track and field fun on this nice and sunny day! Pit street ball field (150 Pit Street)... Registration starts at 10 and will run until a few minutes after 11am! Activities for children age 5-12 of ALL skill levels! Hot dogs and water will be available for the kids as well! Hope to see you all there!

The Sydney Mines Community Policing Office and the Sydney Mines & District Little League are hosting their Annual Grading Day BBQ as well as a baseball movie night at the Pit Street Ball Field in Sydney Mines (150 Pit Street). The Movie being played is Sandlot! The BBQ will start at approximately 7:30pm, and the movie will start at dusk (around 9pm). There will be lawn games and lots of outdoor activities that the kids can play while they wait for the movie to start!... There will also be a draw for 2 bikes!! Attend the event and the kids names will be entered in a draw for the bikes. The Sydney Mines Community Policing Office is hosting their 6th Annual Jail and Bail Fundraiser in support of the Johnstone Crescent Youth Centre and The Sydney Mines Community Policing Office. Have your friends, Family, or co-workers "arrested" on Thursday , August 16th 2018! They will be taken to the Sydney Mines Ball Field (150 Pitt Street) and will be served before a "judge" and will have to call, text, email, etc. their friends and family in order to raise enough "bail" ...to be released! This event is happening between 11am and 3pm! (You may choose the time and place and reason for the "criminal" to be arrested.)
