Canada must attract more skilled immigrants According to a recent report by the Business Council of Canada entitled Powering a Strong Recovery: An Economic Gro...wth Plan for Canada, the government must double down its efforts on attracting more skilled workers to overcome the impact of an ageing population and boost the national post-COVID recovery plan of the economy. The key priorities for the country after the pandemic must be attracting and retaining international students. This cohort of young foreigners represents a huge opportunity for our nation. Moreover, the report states such graduates with a Canadian education are the ideal immigrants for Canada. IRCC updated instructions for dual intent of the spouses On October 30, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released a new update of the D...ual Intent program delivery instructions for spouses and partners who have an overseas application for permanent residence as a sponsored spouse or partner in progress. Dual Intent is a legal term in Canadian immigration law, allowing for nationals to seek temporary and permanent residence at the same time.
