Hey pals! Have you missed seeing my face?? Every so often I aim to get a little personal, but it's scary, ya know? . . Guess who has been pushing her own boundaries recently? Yep - yours truly! I've felt a bit lost the last year and a bit, and now been rediscovering who I am, what I love, expanding my creativity, and challenging myself on limiting beliefs. It may seem wild, but like everyone else, I suffer from my own dose of crippling self-doubt. Ugh, do I ever! But those of... you who've been following me for a while, you'll be familiar with my approach which is to not resist feelings and to instead explore them in depth. The Buddhists say, "make friends with it" and that approach has yielded some breakthroughs in the past. I also feel that by honestly facing my own struggles, I can be more sincere with my clients. Who am I to preach about confidence if it's something I don't really understand? . . Life is dynamic - just when you thought you had a handle on something, it goes all wiggly and gets away from you (what a tricky noodle!). The nature of existence - perpetually shifting and in motion; in response we are to adapt. At one time, I mastered the art of self-love and it was transformative. But years later, after having to face new challenges, I found myself feeling powerless. The feeling of powerlessness is what I believe to be the source of many peoples' suffering. . . In my own story, being 'good' and keeping people around me happy was a way in which I measured my virtue. I diminished myself to avoid subtle conflict that undercurrents of resentment from others would bring - keeping them happy was much easier than setting boundaries. These days, I'm re-learning to appreciate myself, faults and all, wacky weirdness, and show myself compassion. The best way I've found to do this is to get outside of the self - to get an overreaching perspective. By seeing yourself in this way, stepping out of yourself, you can see that hey, you're just a person, a nice one in fact, doing their best and sometimes making mistakes. But you're beautiful, and funny, and sweet and smart and joyful, and it's okay to take a moment to appreciate that truth. See more

Believe it - I'm camera shy. But Carol Eugene Park & Jasmine Mani did such an amazing job with this video I couldn't help but share. Check the link for a little behind the scenes look at the photography I do, why I do it, and the process start to finish. Thanks Mikaela Goyarzu for being the badass beauty professional that you are and providing hair & makeup. And to my wonderful model of course, Katelyn. Couldn't have done this without you guys! https://vimeo.com/381206658
