Hello Everyone, As you may know, Dentists in Alberta have been allowed to begin patient care again. We look forward to seeing you! We have been working hard to make some changes that allow for a safe environment for both our staff and patients while we live with COVID 19. The safety of everyone is the utmost importance. Here are some of the changes that we have made:... - We have installed a glass shield to allow minimal aerosol exposure at the check-in/check-out desk. - Patients are asked to disinfect their hands upon entering the office. - We are all wearing the recommended PPE. - All patients will be asked to mouth rinse with an anti microbial solution prior to treatment. - Patients may be asked to wait in their car and get a call to come in for their appointment directly to limit the waiting room presence. - We have a purification unit that we place in treatment rooms after procedures, and throughout the office. - All hard surfaces will be cleaned after contact, including the visa/debit machine. - Staff are diligently washing hands, going above and beyond the usual precautions and sanitizing. -Much more We will be asking screening questions prior to your appointment as well. UPDATE: Hello everyone! I hope everyone is holding up as well as can be expected as we continue our social distancing.... I wanted to give you an update! Some of the provinces are organizing the new safety protocols that the dental offices will need to take in order to transition back to normal function. Saskatchewan will start seeing patients again in early May. Hopefully Alberta will show progress in keeping COVID 19 in check so that Alberta can follow as well! The Alberta Dental Association will advise us of the protective precautions to keep everyone safe. When you come back, the office may look different..... alot of boundaries will be up to help block possible transmission. I just wanted to let you know that despite the changes and seemingly sterile precautions that we must take - we are committed to keeping your experience friendly ! I also wish to touch base to give an update for anyone that has a dental related concern or question.... As of today, we are still limited in the physical treatment that we can provide due to the Covid 19 situation. However, you can still reach us by calling 4039801847. If you have any dental concerns or discomfort - we are still able to help manage your care. This can be carried out through organizing antibiotics, or getting you set up with various specialist offices that are currently seeing select cases using advanced protective equipment and screening. UPDATE Hello Everyone, Just today, the Alberta Dental Association has set in place strict new protocols for treatment during this Covid-19 situation. We are prohibited from providing any treatment outside of emergency care. ... Emergency care is being defined by the ADA as treatment of 1) oral-facial trauma, 2) significant infection, and prolonged pain or bleeding. In addition, the ADA has provided specific screening questions to determine eligibility for treatment based on possible Covid-19 risk. This decision was made to help lower the transmission of covid-19. While I apologize for the inconvenience for some patients, I hope you understand our responsibility to help lower the risk for everyone in our greater community. Hello everyone, I wanted to reach out to all our patients and wish everyone well during this stressful time. COVID-19 is something that we all take very seriously. The safety of our patients and staff are the utmost importance. We are getting consistent updates from the Alberta Dental Association, and will be taking all the necessary precautions.... This includes: *We remain open, but we will be operating with reduced staff numbers and altered times until we are advised that the risk is reduced. *We are still absolutely able to see dental appointments, however we may need to fit you into specific time slots due to demand and availability. *If you are over the age of 70 and have dental procedures planned that are not an immediate need - it may be better to reschedule to a time when we are advised is a lower risk. *For those that would prefer to reschedule non emergency related treatment to another date, we can absolutely accommodate that. The ADA continues to communicate with the Dental community, and I will keep you updated if anything changes. The Standard of Practice for Infection Control in Alberta is amongst the highest in the world. Its that time of year again! Halloween offers a chance for you to teach your children how to stay safe and minimize the damage they do to their teeth. Here are some tips to keep this time of year pleasant:... 1. Minimize the Taffy and other Sticky Sweets. Caramel and taffy often stick to teeth, allowing sugar to eats its way through enamel between brushings. 2. Eat Candy During Mealtime. The production of saliva during meals helps to wash away bacteria and damaging sugars. 3. Eat Dinner Before Trick-or-Treating. A healthy meal before heading out will keep the kids from craving the sweets that they collect until you can make it home to check them. 4. Create a Candy Budget. The average trick-or-treat take can last a month or longer if you teach your children to moderate. 5. Reduce Sugary Drinks. This includes soda, flavored waters and sports drinks. When teeth come in frequent contact with beverages that contain sugar, the risk of tooth decay is increased. 6. Drink plenty of water. Drinking water helps clean the teeth and gums and minimizes the build-up of bacteria. 7. Be More Vigilant about Eating Healthy. The temptation this time of year is to "slack off"on the healthy foods and let your kids enjoy their candy. However, this should be the time instead to discuss how to eat healthy with your children and promote moderation of sweet and sugary foods. (This advice works well with Christmas as well!) 8. Be Safe. Dont keep candy from trick-or-treat that looks like it has been tampered with. Lollipops with no covers. candy bars with tears in the wrapper...it is better to be safe. 9. Consider non-candy treats as well. 10. Dont let them Slack on the Daily Maintenance. Brushing and flossing is especially important at this time of year.

We are very happy to have Ariel on our team. She is such a genuinly pleasant person that cares for everybody. Her happy demeanor brightens up our office!... Ariel is local to Airdrie and cares for the community. We are so happy to have ariel as a member of our team! Thanks Ariel :)

In continuation of individually introducing our staff, I would like you to meet Monique! She is our awesome Hygienist! I REALLY appreciate her genuine soft nature and kindness. She lives locally in Airdrie with her wonderful family.... We have been lucky to have her with our office starting last year and everyone in the office loves her already! She is gentle and good at making her patients feel comfortable (I should know because she cleans my teeth as well). Thanks for everything Monique! We are happy to have you with us

I say meet, but in reality weve been lucky to have Amanda as part of the team for almost a full year :) She has every quality that you could want in a person to be at your front desk greeting patients. She is friendly, organised, and a genuinly super nice person!... She is a terrific mother to two boys. She cares about people - and she helps make our environment fun and happy. We are lucky to have her!

She finds and plays music for the staff/patients in the office. She often quizzes the rest of us about our classic rock knowledge. If I dont know the answer - my go to guess is Stevie Nicks. Tesla is wonderfully organised and we are SO fortunate to have her working with us. I really appreciate how she goe...s the extra mile to help solve problems and find ways around obstacles for myself and the patients. Tesla - we are lucky to have you with us.

In an effort to get to know us better, Airdrie 8th St Dental would like to introduce you to our staff individually. Over the next few weeks I plan on posting a photo of each of our staff members with a description. Starting with Sandra! We are very lucky to have Sandra working with us. Her infectious smile and happy personality makes it such an enjoyable atmosphere :) She is a genuinly positive person with a great sense of humor.... She is a new mom to her baby daughter - and we couldnt be happier for her. We look forward to welcoming her back from Maternity Leave in the spring! Have a great week everyone!
