Good Afternoon Everyone, This afternoon the government of Alberta announced an easing of restrictions through a phased plan. This news is refreshing to hear for the sport community. ADSA will be reviewing the phased plan and how it will impact our desire to get kids back on the pitch in a safe environment. We are being cautious, yet optimistic.... We will update you in the coming days once we have had some time to process this new information. Thanks again for sticking with us on this incredible roller coaster. Regards, Melissa Collinson, Executive Director Airdrie & District Soccer Association on behalf of ADSA Board & Staff

Congratulations to former ADSA player Samuel Velho! Sam has just signed a 2 year +Academy contract with Portuguese Primeira Liga side Santa Clara. Sam was just 11 years old when we first welcomed him to U12 AFC evaluations. It is safe to say he stood out from day one. He only spoke the odd word of English, but that did not stop him from making a great impression on all the evaluators that evening at Monklands field. As they say, he spoke the "Language of Football".... On top of his obvious natural abilities, it was Sam's passion for the game that really made him stand out as an elite player. If his training session were at 6.30pm, he'd be there at 4.30pm asking if he could join in with his younger sister's team. If he could not participate, he was either coaching from the sidelines or practicing by himself. When his team's session was done, he would then be begging the tech staff to let him join in with the U18's. We could never say no. On behalf of everyone at ADSA we are extremely proud of what Sam has achieved so far and we are excited to watch his progression in the years to come. Congratulations Sam. Keep up the hard work and enjoy every step of your journey!!

The Province of Alberta announced the City of Airdrie is being elevated from the Watch status to an Enhanced status. This status change triggers the City of Airdrie's Mandatory Face Covering (mask) bylaw. We are reminding our Membership that this bylaw includes Genesis Place and the fieldhouse.

Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund is helping sport and recreation organizations continue to operate in 2020 and beyond. Along with Jumpstart, we understand the role sport plays in the health and well-being of kids and their families and are doing everything possible to help community sports continue. With Jumpstart’s support, we have been able to recall our Grassroots Coordinator to work with our Grassroots Administrator to align with the Alberta Soccer Association and Canada Soc...cer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) plan, which promotes the implementation of the Preferred training Model (PTM) and advocates a station-rotation approach for program, player and coach development. As we emerge from these challenging times, return to play will be more important than ever! #SportsReliefFund @CTJumpstart
