Airdrie Spray Foam

Good news! We have recently switched up what brand of foam we spray and with this new product we will be able to kiss winter heat requirements goodbye! This new product from Quik-Shield is rated to be sprayed on surface temperatures down to -21! Previously we have only been able to spray with surface temperatures down to -1 which meant expensive winter heat requirements . Especially so if you had a detached building such as a shop or barn that you were looking to have sprayed over our cold Alberta winters.

Now that things are finally starting to warm up again we’re starting to get back at it with the spray foaming! We Just completed this shop roof last week. Things still weren’t super warm still but with our new foam being able to spray at such low surface temperatures now we had no trouble in getting this roof sprayed out!

Some photos from a Quonset we managed to slip in before this cold snap. This was to be a new shop for a local plumbing company and they were a breeze to work for! They only wanted a 2 spray package but when combined with the in slab heating system they had installed things were staying plenty toasty even through this harsh cold snap we just went through!

An small ice fishing trailer we insulated up! In even the coldest of weather this thing should be a breeze to heat! Plus with the full underside spray foam there’s not small holes or gaps for rodents to fine they’re way in either!

Some photos from a small renovation job we did today. Spray foam is a great solution for areas like this as a lot of these old walls are only 2x4 construction with a few areas of concrete furred out with 2x2 framing scattered throughout. What this means to you is if you go with a batt insulation your getting an R12 at best with the furred out sections being even worse! With spray foam however we can achieve a full R20 in the 2x4 wall sections with an R10 or so in the furred out cavities. Plus with spray foam being considered a vapor barrier at 2 you won’t have to mess around with poly on these walls either and can skip straight to installing your new drywall!!

We’re taking advantage of this unusually mild January to slip in a few more jobs before the cold really hits! Just wrapped up this Quonset last week. Now this farmer will have a nice warm shop to work in through the next bad cold snap that’s sure to come!

We recently found ourselves back out BC way in Golden spraying a few vacation cabins for a local contractor. We sprayed an R20 package on all the crawl space walls to help winterize these cabins for continued winter use!

Now that winter seems to be here to stay things get a little trickier with spray foam as we still have to guarantee a minimum surface temperature of -1 for our foam to properly react. We understand that not everyone has easy access to heaters, insulated tarps, various extension cords, and other such winter heat supplies. So to help take some of the stress away of having to organize all this and cover the cost of rentals yourself Airdrie Spray Foam has put together our own stockpile of supplies that we can offer and even setup on site for you to keep your project rolling on schedule even through the coldest of months!
