Just because we can't gather in person doesn't mean we can't spread air, not war! Tune in to the Air Guitar World Championships 25th Jubilee livestream this Saturday and catch appearances from airheads all over the world! We hope that we can see you again soon and rock out together! We'd also like to wish a fond farewell to the Mod Club Theatre, who gave a home to our National Championships the last few years and who we were supposed to return to in 2020. They always made sure our competitors looked great with their grand stage and dynamic lighting. It was truly an opportunity to feel like a rock star knowing that you were on a stage that was shared by so many killer acts. We will miss you, Mod Club! Remember, wear a mask, wash your hands, stay home if you are sick, and spread peace - NOT COVID!

FRIENDS! The World Air Guitar Championships have teamed up with Bill & Ted in the hopes of setting an air guitar world record! Check out the video below and sign up to be a part of it - but hurry! The event happens on Monday, August 24th at 10am PST (1pm EST). Let's spread some peace, love and air guitar and help set a world record! And don't forget: be excellent to each other.

The Canadian air guitar season was supposed to kick off in Ottawa today, but sadly we will not be able to gather together in person to rock out for goodness sake until 2021. Today, the World Air Guitar Championships have announced that due to the cancellation of international championships like our own, they have decided to postpone the 25th Air Guitar World Championship until 2021. We will see you next summer, Oulu!

Rocking out (from home) for good!

It’s with heavy hearts and freshly washed hands that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Canadian Air Guitar Championship season. Our regional events have not yet begun and with local event bans rolling out, we are making the call to cancel the year and start planning early for 2021. Our mission of rock and roll and world peace is best served from the comforts of our respective homes this year. Find yourself particularly missing the spirit of air guitar and can’t wait ...until 2021? Rock out from a safe physical distance and make a video - we’d love to see it! Just make sure you tag us @airguitarcanada. If you have requests for songs to be added to our Dark Horse/Brave Souls list, we would love to hear them! And if you’re the type that can cut their own music, send your 60 second clips along and we will have some fun with them in the future. In the spirit of our mission of rocking out for goodness sake, we also encourage anyone with the means to consider donating to the charity of their choice in these difficult times.
