Not only is December the month of sparkly lights and Christmas trees, it's also National Cat Lovers' Month! So, let's snuggle our little balls of fur. <3

We at Airport Animal Hospital would like to take time this busy holiday season to help out a local charity, Shelly Levesque's Food Bank for Small Pets and we are looking for our clients and local community to help out to! Shelly has been working hard in our community for about 10 years. She provides pet supplies for our furry friends who are in need. Shelly's love for animals has given her great success in running this chairty. Unfortunately the holiday season and COVID has ...created a higher demand for assistance and with the lack of donations and support it has been difficult to help those in need. We are looking for donations before christmas for Shelly so we can help keep those tails wagging. We have gathered up a list of items she is requesting in hopes we can make that happen Crates Bird / rodent cages All size beds Dog / cat food Harness / leashes Rabbit / bird / rodent food Bowls Toys Cat litter Carriers We are accepting donations until the 22 of Dec. The month of November is Senior Pet Month and Adopt a Senior Pet Month! Many people overlook senior dogs and cats in shelters, but providing them with a life of love and fulfillment in their last few years can provide us humans with great joy!

Dear clients, The warm weather is here to stay for the summer and with that being said so are fleas, ticks and heartworm. Today we had a lady come in who's dog was outside in her own backyard and had recieved a tick. Owner noticed a few days later that her dog was lethargic, intermittently weight bearing on front legs and overall uncomfortable. We did a 4DX test (picture below) here you can see in the image 2 little blue dots. The top left-hand corner was the "control" spot, ...the one closest to the bottom indicates that her little one tested POSITIVE FOR LYME DISEASE! This is the clinics first case of the season and unfortunately it wont be the last of this year that we will see LYME DISEASE IS IN THE AREA!! it's not just something that you or your furry ones catch camping/hiking/wooded areas. These little critters are anywhere and everywhere and they are continuously getting worse each year. When we recommend flea/tick prevention it's to help encourage and prevent this from happening to your little ones There is also lyme vaccinations that you can get to help, ideally pairing that with flea/tick prevention Anytime you or your pet comes in from outside its ideal to do a good check to see if theres anything that hitchhiked on you If you have not picked up your flea/tick prevention we strongly recommend calling to do so or if you have questions in regards to those products please give us a call at 705-476-3913
