Flagged a taxi down on Saturday night on Jasper Ave and I got a driver by the name of Yaz. Wanted to do a shout out because he was so awesome. Super friendly, great convo and a great driver. Not being from Edmonton I accidentally got a hotel in a seedy area of Edmonton was a little nervous of the area especially coming in late and he warned me of the area. He waited for me to get into my hotel and told me to give him a thumbs up if everything was good. Made a young girl late at night feel really safe and was super caring. I arrived at the Edmonton airport only to realize that my wallet had gone missing. I thought I had left it at the nearby Esso station, so hopped in a cab to go look for it. Yazzi was my driver and was so kind. He even helped me search at the gas station. It was only on the way back to the airport, when we hadn't found my wallet, then I ...realized I was unable to pay him. He was very sweet and reminded me that there are good people in this world. Arrived on time very early on a Sunday morning, even recieved a text when the driver was on the way to my place and could see his progress by GPS. Driver was courteous and professional. Arrived on time very early in the morning. Got to the airport quick paid a flat rate of 45.00. The cab was cleaned and the driver was very professional. The booking was easy over the phone and they have their own app for booking. An important message from the City of Edmonton: As the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve, the City of Edmonton wants to ensure that vehicle for hire services can continue to offer essential transportation options while protecting the safety of both drivers and passengers. Effective April 1, the City of Edmonton renewed its State of Local Emergency order, and has introduced a new range of requirements and restrictions on all taxis, limousines, private transportati...on providers and shuttle service providers, as well as all ride sharing services such as Uber and Tapp vehicles. Please be aware that the following requirements and restrictions are now in place: No more than one passenger per vehicle; except if: o additional passengers are members of the same household, individuals in a close personal relationship, or a required caregiver; or o the size and capacity of the vehicle allows for 2 metres between each passenger and the driver (e.g. shuttle bus); No passengers are permitted in the front passenger seat(s) While driving and/or operating as a vehicle for hire service, cleaning and disinfecting supplies must be kept in the front passenger seat in plain view and used for cleaning of vehicles after each trip. Door handles (interior and exterior), window controls, door locks, passenger seating area, seat belts and buckles, must be cleaned after each fare and with disinfecting cleaning products and substances. Payment devices must be cleaned after each use. Drivers should take appropriate care (e.g. personal protective equipment) when providing physical support to passengers. Any vehicle that provides service to a passenger who is demonstrating COVID-19 symptoms, including cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, or sore throat, or who otherwise indicates that they are at risk of having COVID-19, must be immediately removed from service and thoroughly sanitized. City of Edmonton enforcement teams will be deployed to help ensure adherence to the new regulations.
